I'm just curious, if something is deemed to be a "personalised" vehicle in a 40K codex would that translate to an Epic list? Specifically, Egil Iron Wolf of the Space Wolves has a "personalised" Land Raider. Would something like this warrant any change to a standard Land Raider, for a fluff-based unit type? If not, what would warrant adjustments to normal units?

It would never be warranted in a normal army list; that level of detail is not explored in EPIC:A. For example: adding a Space Marine Character to a Land Raider "personalizes" it to the extent needed for the Tournament list.

When using an EPIC army in the tournament scenario, which is what the point-value-giving army lists are primarily designed for, you're never playing a "specific character", just "generic" ones: Commissar Yarrick, Marneus Calgar and Ghazkhull don't need stats for the list of their armies, the various supreme commander, and other, options allow them to be represented without unique stats.

Now, an appendix of "special character units" my be a fun addition to a supplement, but they shouldn't have tournament point values or be included in an army list, but simply be there for "casual" play.

Land Raider + Marine Character of some sort = Special Land Raider.

Definitely no need to direct representation of special characters/vehicles at this scale.

I'll pile on as well - fine for scenarios and friendly games but not for general purpose GT lists.

I also agree that the scale does not discrimate between the general and special versions of a particular character. I would however be curious as to how you would consider unique characters that don't correspond to an existing epic unit (The only one I could think of is the Master of the Ravenwing on Jetbike where the best solution is a captain/librarian on a landspeeder for either version)

I'd probably just put a Captain on a Bike formation and model one of the 3 bikes on the base being a jetbike... the other two bikes still need to travel along the ground and so the rules of the unit as a whole aren't greatly affected (Ie: They don't suddenly gain Skimmer).
