Hi there i need some help in picking a good space marine army 3000pts to use in an upcoming tornament
any sugestions would be greatly apprecited.

Most successful lists use 3 or 4 Warhounds. A spacecraft can be good when facing a hoard army to try and take out a formation or two before they can overwhelm you.
Landspeeders and Air Assaults are another good combination.
You almost have to work backwards with SM's decide how you are going to fight the battle first and then pick your formations to suit this style.
