					| Hi
Apologies if this has been posted before but had a quick look and could not see any other threads. Has anyone checked out the Land Raider Ares conversion on GW website:

 http://uk.games-workshop.com/apocalypse/scratch/7/

I quite like the look of it. Demolisher cannon, sponson heavy flamers (twin IIRC) and twin linked assualt cannon. I quite like that as it looks a sensible weapons fit for a siege tank. And unlike the Land Raider Terminus Ultra (which was just a pathetic fan-boy attempt to field as many lascannons as possible on a Land Raider without it falling over) the designer even toned it down by downgrading the original idea of sponson melta cannons down to current sponson heavy flamers.

This might be a nice design for variant SM lists for EA- gives the SM some more MW options (which I know many people are wary of) but at a suitably high points cost being based on the Land Raider chassis.

Personally think could be cool way of emphasizing siege nature to a variant SM list.

 Cheers

 James

					| Yes certainly far more acceptable than the Terminus pattern.

					| MW? Where do you get the MW from. I am pretty sure the demolisher cannon will not stay MW. And again, the Land raider is expensive anyway and with THAT short range armament it will be a challenge to get it into play (and to get the points back)
Not speaking of the lacking model.....

Just one more variant...we are getting into the range of L-Russ variety with the Land raider...but without the useability of the IG counterpart

Edit: a note: Most of the new variants do the same like Marine tanks already available. Helios does the job of the Whirlwind, Ares does a vindicator Job. Prometheus does the Destructor job (if we do not count SC). I do not like this. Instead of making Rhino-hull marine armor better (YES they need a boost), we exchange them for Land Raider variants because of their better save. Makes me thinking of to be honest.

					| Funily the Terminus Ultra is GW created and the Ares fan created but is better designed _________________ We are returned!http://www.epic-wargaming.de/
