Yes, I agree ... Stats should be the same ... IMO, too ... if for nothing else simplicity/playability.

If a weapon has the same stat, it comes down to how it is used!

I sympathise a lot with your views, nevertheless for the purposes of the Transporter the president is set and wing-mounted defensive flack heavy bolters have a range of 15cm, so that's what the Transporter should have.

I'll post separately in your aircraft weapons stats thread and I think there's a good case for standardising the aircraft weapons, but if such a thing were to happen (and that's a big if) then the Thunderhawk Transporter can be edited along with the regular Thunderhawk and Landing Craft as necessary. For the time being, however, they need to be 15cms to fit with the rest of the list.

At least the Transporter doesn't have two sets of ranges for the same weapon on the same datafax... :p

I see no justification for it being as togh as a thawk. Why id th armour the same? Its a far more spindly thing. Say 5+RA. Remember as a WE formation its a bugger to take down.

Ruleswise, in 40k it's armour and DC stats are identical to the Thunderhawk Gunship.

In 40k, both vehicles are:

Front Armour 12
Side Armour 12
Rear Armour 10
Structure Points 3

And they both have 'decoy flares'.

So while DC-3 with 5+ RA might be justifiable off of those stats, you'd really have to change the stats of the standard Thunderhawk at the same time... there's no room to manuever here on stats at any rate.

PS: modelwise the Thunderhawk Transporter is a heck of a lot less spindly than the Landing Craft.

Yep, Henas got it in one. With a worse save it mitigates the WE formation toughness factor and allows a 125 point ship (hopefully). So 2dc 5+ RA x3 375 points or a landing craft? Hmm, maybe a bit cheap. Who knows? Potential problem with cheap activations like a orca - perhaps stick it in the restricted 1/3? No claiming objectives? Keep Hena's idea of the first costing 150, subsequent int eh formation costing 125?
