I have different (nd others to) different ideas of what the various 'core' deathwing units are like and how they are organised

Er... aren't there only, essentially, two Deathwing units: Terminators and Land Raiders?

Dreadnoughts too, so three.

But he probably meant Deathwing/Ravenwing, who actually are all that differs from core marines.

I think its Deathwing (Characters, Terminators, Land Raiders), Ravenwing (Bikes, Attack Bikes and Land Speeders), Dreadnoughts (Deathwing and Mortis) and 'others' (for me Tacticals and a predator, for BL just Tacticals).

Oh and allies and how prevailant they are (which has a big impact on balance).

Ah, you meant "Dark Angel" core units, not "Deathwing" core units.

Predator? Nothing special whatsoever about DA Predators. Except for the little angel guys on the vents, of course.

I agree that last point, DA Tacticals and Devestators really should be identical to those of other chapters in epic.

The abstracted heavy weapon stat of the missile launcher already includes plasma cannons and so what if DAs use slightly more of them - many chapters probably use slightly more of one sort, but not exclusively - they use all the others too - and such little preferences should not be represented in epic.

That is is one way true - on the other having a 30cm 5/5 shot makes them perform significantly differently to other tacticals and such small changes that lead to tactical differences I think are good.

@Dobbsy: Note to myself: Check PDf before uploading. Actually i deleted all the colour from the army list because it was first made with Word which i no longer own and i didn't manage to find the correct green and off-white corouts in OpenOffice.
You will see that eg the Assault Detachment is missiing too because the words are white on white background :D

The Holy Mission is an optional scenario which both players agree to use before setup.

@Angel_of_Caliban:
1. Why can't Dev's have Plasma cannons?
I thought it is enough if Tacticals can take them.

2. Why Plasma AP+4/AT+4? Why not MW+4 or +5?
The Leman Russ Demolisher has Plasma Cannon sponsons and they are 30cm AP4+/AT4+ Slow-firing. So there is precedende.

3. Mortis have Autocannon's. Why not Plasma? It can in 40k right?
I thought about swutching the general Assault Cannon Dreadnought with a Plasma Cannon Dreadnought.

4. Why aren't the DW cooler? They are the best Termies in the galaxy by the fluff?
Fearless isn't enough?

5. I like limiting allies to 1/4 but maybe ditch the Navy all together and have only Titian support? DA could work with just Hunters and T-Hawks but we need the AM support.
EpicUk actually deleted the whole allies section. I think this is a bit too extreme.

6. Why can't DA have any LR variants? We are the 1st Legion after all. Plus there is the new Ares LR that fluff wise came from the AM/DA.
I didn't want to go totally overboard with this armylist because Dark Angels aren't THAT different to Codex Space Marines.

@Dobbsy:

BL, can I ask the reason why you have DA tacticals as an upgrade to standard Tac's? Are we to use the normal SM list and add these to it?

Tacticals are generic Missile Lauincher Tacticals. The upgrade allows them to replace two of them with Plasma Cannon Tacticals.
EpicUK Dark Angels only have Plasma Cannon Tacticals. Do you think this is better?

@vytzka: The Ravenwing are as elite as the Deathwing. In previous versions they had Fearless as the Deathwing and their Wh40k counterpart. This is too powerful. So i thought they are used to act forlong periods alone so they have supreme leadership to still hold touch to each other. So i thought Leader fits perfectly which enables them to shed Blastmarkers most easily.

Reavenwings are there..only in white on white background... :whistle:

No DA Tacticals have FF and CC 4+. It is a copy-past error from Terminators.

So here is the correct version:

I can go with Characters, Deathwing Terminators and Ravenwing (Bikes/Atk. Bike/Landspeeders) being different from standard marines. Tacticals, Predators and Deathwing Dreadnoughts aren't different in any way and Mortis Dreads are borderline (close enough to the shooting variant anyway).

The "No Allies"/"Limited Allies" rules that every list I've seen has is just adding things to make it different. The DA have some strange behaviour at times but can anyone point me in the direction of some information on the DA or Navy/Titan Legions refusing to work with each other in a battle situation.
