Im pretty sure storm eagles were made WE so they could transport primarchs. Which are DC warengines. So rule stating that only a warengine can transport another war engine.

WRT Vanguard. I like as written ortron.

WRT Stern guard I think should be - CC4+ FF 4+ (+1EA in FF) and 15cm AP/AT 5+ at 250 for 4.

You could make them MW attacks but that may make people go crazy!

Sternbuard and Vanguard will likely make it into the list one way or another, and Terminators will loose drop pods possibly becoming 0-1.

A sig can only have 5 links in it.

I'm really having a hard time seeing this as anything but carping.

Make an update, and let the playtest start! :D
Termies 0-1 is welcomed, and termies with dradnoughts mourned :)

Then I suggest that when using a medium of communication where there's absolutely no way to convey tone (like this forum) that it's probably better to open with "Hey, here's some specific things that I think need addressing" and err on the side of explaining yourself too much, rather than writing a terse message with a vague indication of what you're referring to and a comment with no context.

I would be unhappy if RG terminators lost their drop pod option.

Any movement on the Vanguard/stern guard playtesting options?

Nope, still sticking to the time frame I laid out. First four months are for playtests as-is so I can figure out who the playtester base is and then we go from there.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply. Sorry but I'm not really interested in testing the list as is and will concentrate on other lists development for the time being - like the Horus Heresy Raven Guard list.

Im still keen to get involved later on down the line though.

Just one thing to open up to the floor though. I understand list-wise snd development-wise why the caestus assault rams are included in the raven list, but I don't think thematically the caestus fits. I can't find any fluff where ravens use it and the fluff on the notable users of the assault rams include all the "angry" legions/chapters.

I would suggest that they are not that well suited and maybe a storm eagle or similar delivery craft would be more suitable.

Cheers
Jim

mod: moved dev post to actual dev thread.

I've been away from this board for a number of months and didn't see any of the battle reports involving RG until tonight.

I am highly impressed with Dave's record with RG. I have played a fair number of games with them, and my force organization tends to involve many more scout units with sniper upgrade, and assault units rather than tacticals. Purely a choice of play style. I have had about a 50/50 record with them.

My biggest concern with RG is the seeming necessity of an orbital bombardment and drop. I'm not always a fan of doing a drop attack, and besides if my opponent always knows I'm going to drop then he can plan accordingly. I prefer coming in via Thawks.

Has anyone else had success with RG, without using OB and drop pods to attack?

I haven't tried an air assault list with the 4 strong tacticals yet. That and straight infantry are something I'd like to test.

Incidentally, is there any way to change the link at the top of this thread to point to the most recent list?
