That's like saying their AA weapons shouldn't cost anything because they might ground attack instead. Of course SR5 is a huge benefit to interceptors, to suggest otherwise is absurd. You can prefer to live with the boost for the sake of keeping allies costs the same across the board, but you're scraping the barrel here a bit here to suggest there is no boost.
