Err, according to the organisation diagram in the E:A book, the 1st company has 20 squads (each of 10 men) - which is obviously at odds with the description on the preceeding page - but perhaps this is due to the passage of time between the original codex and the battles for Armageddon Prime?

Err, according to the organisation diagram in the E:A book, the 1st company has 20 squads (each of 10 men)

That's 20 *Terminator* Squads... each of *5* "men".

Or 10 Veteran Tactical Squads, each of 10 men...

Both come out to a Company of 100 Space Marines.

That's 20 squads of terminators in 40K speak. Each terminator squad is 5 man strong.

The 1st company is listed as 20 Terminator or 10 veteran squads. Still 100 marines.

I believe most chapters don't have a full 100 suits of terminator armour to be able to equip the whole first company either, and some are meant to have a lot less. The rest would be made up of Veteran Squads, which don't really have an epic equivalent, but would be sort of tactical marines with better CC and FF I guess.

For me I'd give veterans some for of stubborn or fearless type rule over better stats. Their equipment is the same, but experience gives them the edge.

You could even give them... better initiative!  Yes, 0+, as they're the best of the best... only Blast markers and retaining keep them from their duty.

And the presence of the enemy doesn't deter them from returning to the fray!

Ah, Veterans. Could they be represented by mixed formations of 4-5 units, some in terminator armour and others as up-gunned marines?

Indeed, the best way to represent Veterans is a 0+ initiative rating IMO.

Simple option was always tacticals/Assault/Devs (depending on chapter) with one better CC and FF.
Though I like the initiative zero idea :)

Why the Librarian? If the terminators are an airborne unit sure a chaplain isn't better for the first assault and any subsequent efforts?

Mainly because I was trying to get only 1 Chaplain in there as you're only supposed to get 1 per Battle Co.

Also I've found mine support a lot of assaults so due to experience really for me,though I do like using a Chaplain too but thats if they go in a T/Hawk.
