Different strokes. You said no one was giving any specifics about why it's "not imperial" so I did. If you still disagree, it's just a difference of opinion about what defines something as "imperial," rather than that no one presented a coherent explanation.

I'll agree with that. :)

Opinions will likely change when people see the model in the fles / view the 360 of it. I love it from the back (take that as you will)

Just some feedback after a small reprieve:

Troops with 3x CC attacks does not sit well with me. I find it cumbersome and can be represented in other ways (possible stat increase?).

To me, other than the mental training and funky weaponry, GK really are not that much different from marines. If Marines are the pinnacle, and GK are a specialised force, then I see them as the Batman of gotham city. Wonderful toys and a little more resolve, yet certainly not the Superman that stats such as 3xCC + teleport + Warpquake are making them out to be.

Warpquake = Unnessesary I feel.

As it is (can be) a full teleporting force, you also have to understand that the 'take up' and interest will be reduced greatly comparred to other forces. Just something to keep in mind, that's all. Yes other armies can do it as well, GK seem to have it as a standard. This may effect the amount of playtests you get - that's all.

Cheers dude :)

If the legs were backward, that'd almost be the Battletech Thug.

I agree with most of neal's objections. Plus, I really despise the exposed pilot. Exposed pilots are for fanatics, stupid movies, and non-combat vehicles.

There aren't any! Some have +1 extra attack CC some have +1 extra attack FF but none have 3 cc attacks.

Warpquake = Unnessesary I feel.

They have psychic buffs to attacks per unit such as hammerhand or other pre attacks such as holocaust (and the power cleansing flame which is statted as a first strike), all power weapons with one also used as an instant death force wepon in the unit, the ability to take all differnt types of force weapons within the unit, including dual power weapons giving +1 attack, - they function more like sternguard or veterans than regular marines I believe.

All references to ignore invulnerable save are removed and I haven't even playtested the effects of warpquake in the field yet, so I'm not ready to make that call.

Not all of the troop choices have teleport, but four do (two of the better troop choices, purgation and purifier squads don't have teleport). Space marines can potentially all take drop pods too making them work in a similar way, but there is not a blast marker penalty for doing that. In the aggregate, taking a number of grey knight teleporting troop formations which are forward stacked on points comes close to leveling out the points of taking a strike cruiser to drop pod regular space marines. I'm not sure that will exactly affect the amount of playtesters!

ooh, looks like Clyde from Every which way but loose :)

fattdex, any chance you can put up the latest doc on here? Bit hard to get an idea of progress otherwise.

Also, I heard the basic "tac" marines get FS CC and +1EA FF, is that right? So, if the first strike kills the unit it's in BtB with, it will get 2 FF attacks, for a total of 3 attacks? What are the points costs for that fm?

From a quick squiz through your scribd doc, I get a strong feeling that many of the special rules (warpquake and the extra Librarian powers) will be both too fiddly for the Epic scale and complicated to remember. There might be other, simpler ways of getting the GK feel you're after..

A shocking thought: The Nemesis Dreadknight might be an actual Knight.

it is both too small, and too silly, to be a proper Knight (and that is a rather damning indictment, that it can be too silly for knightworld...)
they also dont suggest anything like it in the parts of the codex i read.
the knight part comes more from Grey Knight than Knight Titan
