I understand why the armour stats are different for the Hunter (its a different hull), but why is the AA3+ and it has a longer range? Surely its still the same weapon system as a standard hunter?

Black Legion has a habit of translating modern 40k stats to epic.

It's the same unit now brought to 40k and the Epic unit isn't going to change.

What are peoples thoughts on the Storm Raven and/or Land Speeder storm joining the main SM list?

Initially I would have said NO!, but now they have sort of grown on me and I can see them adding a distinct role in the list. Obviously the LS Storm would be the go to transport for scouts and stats would be something like:
LV Armour: 5+ CC: 6+ FF5+
Heavy bolter 30cm AP5+
skimmer, transport 1
- No doubt someone has already hashed this out and may have even considered stats for the launcher.

The Storm Raven on the other hand would change up the transport options for tactical detachments and provide a means of getting dreadnoughts to move at faster than 15cm. I haven't played with or against epic blood angels since its introduction so I'm unsure of it actual success as an epic unit.

Anyway, has anyone else's opinions of these units also improved to the point when inclusion in the standard list would be supported?

Cheers

Storm Raven would be a no for me, it's a big change and not really needed and two of them plonked next to each other makes a fine Thunderhawk proxy.

Storms should be in the standard Codex Astartes list IMO, they're the dedicated Scout transport vehicle. Scouts have never had access to Rhinos or Razorbacks in 40k or the background, they were just an Epic invention as they wouldn't work well in the game without some kind of transport. Now that there is one we can fix that though and modelwise they could just be a camouflage painted Land Speeder.

There are existing stats: similar to that but with 4+ armour (LV have higher than normal armour mostly due to their speed more than their crew's armour - if a ramshackle Deth Kopta crewed by a single ork has 4+ then so should the Storm) plus Scout, 100 points for 4 and replacing (not adding to) the Rhino and Razorback options for Scouts. The launcher that slightly helps them in a 40k assault is too small scale and ignored in epic. It's currently in the Raven Guard list.

It was suggested to Dobbsy amongst the big 2012 debate and revisioning and he was considering the Storm, but left it for the moment in favour of other more important changes first. Now that those have been working fine maybe he might consider it; I suggest trying it out some in games, seeing how it goes and reporting back (ideally with playtest battle reports).

You know what theses Centurions look like to me? A throwback to the epic Crusader and Castellan knights. It's the legs and the barrell chest that make them look the same, though obviously the Centurions have actual arms.

Looks like a turducken to me. Though I have heard that if you remove the jock strap that the legs look more mobile.
