Building necrons...

Has anyone started to build monoliths, obelisks, abbatoirs, C?tans, AEonic orbs or pylons?
I have started on pylon monolith and abbatoir and im going to make moulds of them but if anybody else has one i could borrow or so it would be great.

Btw. does anyone know how that works with GW?
Since they havent started to sell necrons yet they cant possibly sue me fore making thous objects can they?
But if i sell some of them they can?
Eaven if its only fore the same price that i make them fore?

Fore beginners:
Use Dark realm miniatures andryadas fore necrons:
Commander = Necron lord
Bodyguard = Piranah
Infantery = warrior
infantery w. H.wep + (40k) scarab = destroyers
infantery w. H.wep + (40k) scarab + extended cannon = Hewy destroyer
infantery w. H.wep + (40k) scarab + front of 40k warrior weapon = destroyer lord
Vulturs/Vanguard = immortal
Scarab + steel bars + 40k front of wep. = Tomb spider
Scouts could possibly be flayed ones
Eldars can be converted to ok wraiths, i will post a guide... they arnt the best but they look ok.

Legally speaking I believe that fair use preserves the right for you to make your own for personal use only. You cannot sell or distribute them to others without permission of GW, even at-cost. I think. But then, I'm not a lawyer. Thus far I don't think GW has sued anyone over making miniatures for personal use, only for marketing them as the type of minis they are actively and trying to sell them.

As for people who have made there own, several folks have though I don't recall names now. Corey's Nightbringer is a WHF Skeleton I think with green-stuff cloaks and a scythe cut from another weapon sprue. At least one person on the boards uses a 40K scale Deciever for his Deceiver in Epic with a cut down set of robes so he's not quite so toweringly large.

Don't hold your breath on G/W Necrons ... stick with DRM and scratch building ... :)

Old thread from my army.  I have a bunch of ideas to use (including Warmaster pieces) which you may find useful.  Pipboy did some excellent work which I fully took advantage of (see thread).

Really? ?That's a bummer. ?I had a friend make me copies of my Monolith and Obelisk masters last December (for personal use), and to this day, I haven't received them, so I've been forced to start re-making them. ? :angry:   I could have actually sculpted four independant Monoliths in the time I've waited....

As I understand it you can not legally reproduce any GW miniature. Period. Not even for personal use. You can scratch build your own and reproduce that but if it used GW intellectual property then they could take action. Not that they would give you a hard time if yu were using it yourself. GW pays Epic no attention anyway so it's likely that they wouldn't even know.

As far as scrtach building your own, it's not that hard  -just time consuming and a little tedious. Check out these links to see how I did mine.

You can say that again! Nothing in my army is painted yet but soon the figures will bee completed. I will post some pictures soon... the Necrons are rising :D

Scratchbuilding, molding and casting, 24/7. Thats my life nowdays ;)

Uhm...
I built my Monoliths by making a paper model of them. Unfortunately i have not yet thought about any suitable  obelisks yet. Can i get some inspiration from yours, Weedow?
