Hi, I wanted to contribute to improving this list, but I didn't saw a "global" thred where people could post their experience with the list. Today I played a game against a fellow wargamer, 3000 pts, tournament rules, 1 objective more than the enemy = win. I played Guard before and did some testing games with Space Marines, this is my first game with Necs. My enemy is still struggling to find the perfect army for his needs and has played a couple of Marine lists, but never droplist, Tau 5.1, 5.4 ( both with massive proxies) and World Eaters 4.0. Anyways, I hope that you will be able to follow my battle rep, it is only based on memory from today, but any feedback on errors on our side would still be appreciated.

My list:

Main:
Necron Infantry Formation, added 3 Immortals, added 1 Tomb Spider, added 1 Pariah, BTS
Necron Infantry Formation, added 3 Immortals, added 1 Pariah
Support:
6 Obelisks
3 Monoliths and 1 Obelisk
6 Heavy Destroyers
6 Destroyers
6 Destroyers
Warbarque Supreme Commander

His List (Space Marine 1.0, Rulebook E:A, without the adapted point cost for the single WH since we were not sure and I forgot the FAQ/Errata at home)

Tactical with 2 Dreadnaught, DropPod
Devastator, Supreme, 1 Dred, 2 Razorback, 2 LR
Terminator Formation with Librarian
Devastator
Assault with Chaplain
Thunderhawk
the small Space Cruiser
Land Speeder formation
2 single Warhounds

Round 1
I setup my destroyer formations, one at the blitz, the rest on the flanks. One double's out to the far left and gets phased out (I lost 2) by the Land Speeders. The Speeders, having bitten the bait are shot down to only two left by the heavy, double-ordered heavy destroyers. his Uber detachment of Devastators runs forward, the warhounds are reacting to the threat of the destroyers on his flanks and march to their objective (there was no room to hide them at the start of the game and he was in a bit of fear from teleporting nightmare :D The Hawk only made a strafing run to pop some blast markers on the heavy destroyers but didn't kill anyone (to hit: 4+, to save 4+ and nothing? huh?) and that's about it. regaining a heavy and a normal destroyer. nothing rallies, I have only the pphased out destroyers and some BM on the heavys which I reduce by half

Round 2
I teleport everything - the obelisks, the mono and the barque. the obelisks are threatening his hound pack, the mono and the barque his BTS. He teleports Terminators into the fun. He wins iniative an phases the monos out with the devastators. only one monolith remains :/ He refuses to retain and I start by making an assault on his BTS with my BTS through the portal of the Warbarque (which was very stupid since I have an nearly identical formation for the job, but well.) but the outcome is desastrous - I lose one or two Warrior stands and the spidey and only one LR, one Razorback, 1 Dreadnaught and his Supreme survives - broken of course. I think I have done enogh and let him move some units. His next move: the hound shooting at the obelisks. but, nothing happens excpt "coming under fire". His other hound stands next to the other and I bring that one down with my obelisk formation and sustained fire. next step: I retain the iniative and use the portal on the obelisks to advance my heavy destroyers back into the game. the shoot down the shield on the second, still kicking hound and get him down to 2 DC. Back to him he drops his DropPod next to the barque and my BTS Formation. Still fighting strong he rolles 8 dice for the deathwind and succeeds in qoundg the barque and killing one warior stand. His barrage goes in nomans land, hitting nothing.
Catching a little break - Next up he retains and makes his thunderhawk charge and kills my BTS completely - at the cost of one devastator stand. Dammit. I can only move with my 2 destroyer detachments, and that's it. I activate one of them and go after the rest of his BTS to give 'em some blast markers for some auto kill, but only manage to inflict enough wounds to kill cybot, rhino and raider, his supreme still alive. HIs terminators double through the ruins and shoot at the other destroyers (okay,I seriously didn't thought he would double with them, running past the objective, my fault) - but, lucky me, nothing happens. Last thing to do in this round: Sustained fire back at the terminators with no effect. I considered to make a double and shoot at his BTS but that woud have placed me in grave danger from beeing destroyed by his tactical squad. End phase: Some Necs regenerate, his units still like fleeing, mine all rally, the barque is also back in action.

3 Turn
I teleport the single monolith back next to his broken BTS and the broken Speeders, and thats it. I lose the iniative again (surprise, surprise) and he wipes the mono out with his hound - with only the Vulcan Bolter since his blastgun fired on the destroyers last round. I am next and get out of the barque with my necrons and shoot at terminators. Which was a rather stupid move, it would have been more clever to attack the tactical Drop Detachment with an assault after moving and shooting with the barque. But well. Anyway, nothing happens with the Terminators. They shoot back but only one warrior fails his save. After shooting a bit he assaults with his damned thunderhawk. He also contacts the intermingled barque with his assault chaplain stand and the fun starts. "The killerwarbarque of doom from hell +2" even succeeds in hitting the assault formation twice while the chaplain doesn't even hit the giant pyramid thingy. In the end we fight two assault phases (we draw the roll once) and I lose the whole formation (again, this feeling is rather unpleasant), mailny because his stupid terminators gave supporting fire and kill 2 warriors and the lord with his pariah guard - but he also had to bleed - only one assault marine (and not the chaplain) remains, the barque withdrawls. Very bloody game so far. He has enough and let me also have some fun. I dont have any sophisticated plans left with only the two destroyer, the heavy destroyer and 5 obelisks remaining. I destroy his hound with the obelisks and the heavy destroyers and kill the supreme and the speeders with my two destroyers while parking one of these squads on the Blitz.
Necs: 2 - Speehs Meehrehns: 1
-- END OF GAME --

Conclusions on both sides:
Opponent:
- Drop Space Marines are more fun to play than footslogger Marines
- Terminators are the hero formation of the day.
- Overall the Necrons seem to be a very fair and fun enemy to play against.
- The barque seems to have no other reason than to serve as the supreme and a bigger Monolith.
- Bloodiest epic game ever! 16 Stands with 4+ Save and one DC with Living Metal in one assault GONE!

My
- Space Marines in a drop list are very.. unfunny.. if you are a static army like Guard for example, but I think with Necrons it's also fun for the opponent since both armies are merely drop armies. Which makes even them really fun to play against it.
- I need more wraiths. The are more likely to get the enemy than more immortals.
- I also need more portals. The 75 points Blitzgate seems to be a must-have
- Destroyers are hard as hell - I really like them :D
- Necrons are one of the most mobile armys I have ever seen or played with, which I would have never thought from reading Raiders 2.0 before - and, like I mentioned very fun to play for both sides.

Over all a very enjoyable game!

I have rather shocking news: You can come over to Hannover EVERY WEEKEND and play against me :P Or Graf_Spee when he's free. Hell, there is enough space for 20 people here in the wargaming club, let's make a meet and greet there some time.

...

I seroiously think that THAT would be really cool. And you dear sir should also accept my ICQ request :P

back to Necs: I think I used the wrong rule version after reading here this evening, but well. It said Raiders 2.0 on the front so I thought I had the most up to date version of the PDF

Thanks for the batrep. Those types of games where the casualties are high always make me tired. The good thing about them is they are easy to clean up! :)
