During my last game, my usual opponent had some comments about cost of some upgrades. For example, he doesn't understand the stats of the Parias. Why are they "Inspiring"? The main problem is that the stats of these units (Parias, Immortals, tomb spiders, etc.) make their cost too expensive to be deployed in a formation. This is a shame because some of these units are not deployed. Who is playing tomb spiders? |

(fbruntz @ Oct. 17 2006,15:03) QUOTE For example, he doesn't understand the stats of the Parias. Why are they "Inspiring"? Pariah are not really "Inspiring" but they cause terror. So it was decided that, rather than create a new rule to give -1 to the ennemy, "Inspiring" would be used to give +1 to the Necrons. Same thing, but no need for a special rule. The main problem is that the stats of these units (Parias, Immortals, tomb spiders, etc.) make their cost too expensive to be deployed in a formation. I think that Pariahs and Immortals are fine. If you consider that a Necron Lord is 25 points, a Phalanx gets you 6 Warriors for 200 points, i.e. 33 points per Warrior. So Pariahs and Immortals are actually quite cheap, when you think about it. This is a shame because some of these units are not deployed. Who is playing tomb spiders? Now I'll agree there is a problem with the Tomb Spyder too. Please see HERE if you have any suggestions. |

I've used every type of formation and add-on except Flayed Ones and the Orb. The Spyders certainly are a huge help. Affording them in every formation is tough, but dropping 2-3 in a single formation and having that bulked out formation sit on somebody's blitz is a difficult thing to counter. |

Thanks for all your answers. ? ![]() |
