I have always seen the Necron army as a shooty army (speaking 40k wise).
However, when it comes to EPIC, there are two 0-1 choices that can turn the army more into a CC one.
Nightbringer vs Deciever. Both are nasty. Both fit the fluff. Which one should I take? I feel the deciever is a better choice but I feel that the night bringer is a better "transformation" of the actual 40k rules to epic.
Abattoir vs Aeonic Orb Being new and without 40k background, I find this choice a lot harder to make. Abattoir is a nasty close combat unit that can take almost anything in the game, specially if supported. But Aeonic Orb is among the best shooting unit in the game. I mean 12 BP (ouch!)
So, whoich one have you found more useful?
If you go CC, do you take both the abattoir and the night bringer? Do you baance by taking one CC and one Shooter?
As you saw in my previous post, I am about to build my C'than. I dont want to build "the wrong" one.

I've never played against the Abattoir or the Deciever, but I can tell you as a titan-legion player that the Nightbringer and the Aeonic Orb both hurt, a lot. The Necron war-engines have really painful Crits, though. So watch out for those. I've seen the Aeonic Orb destroy itself after taking just 1 DC in damage before...
