ok, heres my toutorial...... I borrowed the obelisk idea from honda by sticking 2 20mm squre bases together, then using plasticard(or in my case cut up blister packs) and cut 4 identical strips about 2cm by 2.5cm. I then cut the pyramid shape measuring 3mm off each side and cutting from there to the bottom corner. using the top base as a guide I glued it together leaving the bottom base untouched. after that I made a square top to fit and made a portal by glueing on a small strip. when it all was dry I added the crystal(a small bead) and curled a strip about 2mm wide to fit on the back and over the crystal. I then added 3-4 wires to make the side bitz and cut some small bitz of wire to mount on the corners like the guns on the 40k version. to finish it off I cut tiny strips of plastcard and bent them in half to glue on top of each corner(check pics). then I made a flying base and cut it down to 2mm tall and glued the monolith to it. base it and paint it and enjoy...... thanks for the comments and I will continue to post pics of new stuff |
