Yep ... Necrons don't need Titans, IMO ... but do what works for you ...

Hi Guys,
The idea of a Necron Titan has come up many times and... always been shot down.
I personally like it, but I don't think it will fly with the "management."
Shabbat Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Necron Titans.

I like the fact that "walkers" for titans didn't percolate to the top. As it stands, the Imperial Warlord already looks rather Necron-ish.
I think the two types of Titans we have are just fine and I love their concepts, the AO being my favorite. I do wonder why there is a limitation on them on top of the existing titan point limitation though. Seems like a 0-1 per 4000 points would have been enough.
I understand about the AO, as it is supposed to be rare, but it seems like you ought to be able to get more than one of them in a large list.
Also, after wrestling with the various images of Abbattoir, I am now leaning towards getting the chassis of a 40K Destroyer and converting it to look like a mega Tomb Spyder.
As far as my progress on my army goes, I've scratch built 6 obelisks and I am now working on 6 Monoliths. As soon as I get them painted up, I'll post some pics.
After that, I'm going to scratch build some Pylons, Nightbringer, the Deceiver, and eventually a Harvester I guess.
So far, it's been a pretty fun modeling exercise and something I think other future Necron players would be able to duplicate. I'm looking forward to getting them on the table top soon to explore their capabilities.

Hi!
Netepic has had a necron titan for some time.
Download the Slann/Necron book and take a look at it for ideas. Its worked fine for us and it is about 5 years old already.

Truly embarrassing this is...
Hah! I just read the link for the original post and realized that my "great" idea had already been bandied about. Next time I think I'll check out all the information before I stick my foot in my mouth.

I read that discussion. IMHO, the concept is virtually identical to the Abattoir and the only real difference is in the actual execution.
