Noting that some proposed alternatives such as the BFG ships, don't look very "monolith llike", I wondered if Dystopian Wars range might have something a bit more "chunky".

I wondered if these Myskin bombers stood up on end might be suitable alternatives?
The rounded end is also detachable so a square base could be attached if desired, though I quite like the round bit.




Perhaps with these as the obelisks...


Though I've always liked the idea of the Dark Realm Viras as a obelisk proxy, as it actually looks like something speedy rather than blocky, and still necron like.


What do people think? Other ideas?

I really like both Obelisk ideas!

Not quite as sold on the Myshkins as Monoliths, but I think that's more because the Monolith is fixed pretty firmly as pyramidesque for me.

I also like the obelisk idea, although the steam pipes should be converted to something else. Can't imagine Necrons flying with steam

Yes, hard to find something equivalent to that. Perhaps some of the spaceship ranges, e.g. this might be ok perhaps if stood up on large end and tweaked a little.

New buildings for 3,6,8mm scale

Do you know how long it is? It looks pretty good, but I'm thinking that it might be just a wee bit to big to represent a vehicle in epic scale, even one as oversized as monoliths.
