This chap might make a mighty fine Nightbringer - large for Epic scale, but then he is a C'tan ![]() ![]() |

I noticed his skull was particularly robotic. |

I am really nort sure on the size. Maybe if the weapon was shortened it would help. Maybe it just needs to be painted to really show the impact? |

Thanks to Frogbear for prodding me to paint this (the glue was actually still wet in the pics in my previous post). Usually it takes years between me buying something and painting it. I had hoped that a good painter would have painted one up in the meantime. Here we are with some eldar and a rhino for some scale comparison. How big is a god supposed to be anyway? A lot of models are off scale anyway. Could 10 marines actually fit in a plastic rhino? The scythe is perhaps longer than you would want for an epic model. It is scaled well with the rest of the model though and the shaft is curved along its length. I wasn't feeling brave enough to shorten it as I think that the blade would then have had to be changed as it would be too long for a shortened shaft.

I think the 20mm base gives it a wrong appearance (at least for me). I'm going to get one of these for the Nightbringer, but I'll try to mount it on a 40mm base. If that doesn't work, I'll try a 30mm round base (WM or the base of a GW flying stand, or maybe even a DRM resin base). How about the Banshee for the deviever? It would need some green stuff work (patch up the dress, maybe the face), but it would match the Nightbringer pretty well. Doable? ![]() |

Ulrik- After a few days of living with it, I thiink you are right about the base size. In addition to a large base, a thinner one would also help the height issue. I can see the banshee working as the deceiver. Let's see what you come up with. I saw on Onyx's hobby blog has a GW woodelf spellsinger as a deceiver which looks great. http://onyxworkshop.wordpress.com/epic- ... n/necrons/ In addition to being a better painter than me, he has used hex bases for his c'tan. |

Good point about the thickness of the base. Not sure where I'm going to get a thin base that's wide enough though. Maybe a flying base. Have to say I'm not a fan of the spellsinger - the floating is fine, but I don't like the pose. I'll give the banshee a shot, but I'm not sure when I'll get around to it. Painting some Warmachine minis is up first. |

Here's a grainy pic of my new Nightbringer, it's taken with my cell phone. I added some edenite infantry to the base, and I have say I think it works pretty well. Wonder how many games I'll use him before he gets into close combat ![]() edit: put it up next to a Revenant, and he compares very well. Like the Revenant it's tall but slim, and the mass looks to be about the same.
