The great thing about the Abbattoir is that there is no model for it. Start looking around and make up something cool.

As a DC6 War Engine, you want it to be probably as big (mass wise) as a Reaver Titan.

Look in the 6mm section and you should see some made by 1 or 2 other members.

It's actually DC8 not DC6 Frogbear, plus much tougher than normal due to Living Metal, so it should be pretty sizeable.

Welcome to the forums J4CK! Have you checked out the guide for constructing the Abatoir in the unit picture at the back of the Raiders book? It's around page 120 or so.

As Glyn points out, there are several good pictures in the Raiders book.

The easiest option is just to buy a 40k tomb spyder of course.

Hey Jack.
To everyone else, Jack's seen the Raiders book (I gave him a 1st edition copy) but he is actually trying to find out if anyone has templates already made up to mak things easier.
We're in the middle of our escalation campaign (War Without End 2011) and will be able to use the larger War Engines in a couple of weeks.

I have what I believe to be the most recent NetEA list (S10) and it has it listed as a DC6. Is that an error in the doc then?

Maybe Zombo can come to the party with an answer....?

DC8 is the correct value.

One of the most common Abbatoirs is just a stack of GW bases.

From bottom to top you have:

4x 50mm square
4x 25mm Square on the corners and 4x 20mm square in the middle
8x 20mm square, in a 3x3 box with no middle
1x 50mm square
1x 40mm square
1x 25mm square
1x 20mm square
The finial is from a Necron Tomb ship, IIRC.

The chains shown in Raiders will require a bit of creativity these days; they were originally bitz ordered chains from (old style) DE Reaver Jetbikes.

small chains can be bought at girly hobby shops - (possibly) hobbycraft, jewelry and bead centres ect

Well, yeah. The ones used were cast in a certain pose though, and looked kind of 'alive' when hung down.

A long time ago I tried putting some crystals on the corners of the basic structure, which were in the initital concept art, IIRC. Never got finished, though, and these days I'm better informed about the possible abuses of a 150mm square Abbatoir. ;)
