Hey guys I am new on this forum. I just make these three Obelisk and wanted to know what style might work best for EPIC. Two of them are made off of 20mm bases and the smaller one is about 15mm. These were just test models and my goal is to get some feedback and them make a final model. Then I will cast the models and make about a dozen for my army. I am having trouble adding the photos. If anyone can help it would be appreciated and if you want to see them right away you can visit my blog page, http://dagreenskins.blogspot.com It took me some time to finish however it is done. Thank you everyone for your feedback and I took some of those suggestions and made this. Now I will just need to cast about 10 of them. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I like the one to the right most. The others seem kind of small/thin to me. |

I prefer the one in the middle, or maybe the one on the left. But I like the idea of flat obelisks. |

ooooh you are such a tease ![]() Well to break the deadlock, I prefer the (eeny, meeny, miny, mo) er the left one. One question though, I thought Obelisks were actually rather larger than people - so wouldn't it be more appropriate to use WH 40 bases as a minimum size, and make them taller as well - so 30mm square bases, and perhaps 15-20mm high? |

I like the proportions on the left one, but a scale comparison would be nice. edit- Whoops, 15mm. Left one then. |

Have you compared your obelisks to your monoliths? I made some (simpler) test proxies from 20mm bases, but when I got my monoliths I thought they looked too small. I replaced them with 25mm bases, which match the width of the bottom part of my monoliths. Tastes vary of course. |

Thanks for the feedback guys. I agree with Ulrik and I should provide a side by side look at the models. So take a look and then I will get to work on making one for casting. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the pictures and comparisons, they help a lot. And please ignore my earlier flipancy. If those are the Monoliths that you will be using, then I would go for the larger, right-hand version of the Obelisk as there is much better detail on the model. One thing though, I would recommend increasing the hight of the central 'spire' so that it rises above the others. I really like the multi faceted shape that you seem to have used throughout the three experiments and if you could find a way of making it stand out, then I think you would get the best result. |

Ginger I thought your comment was funny. Thanks for the feedback. I am leaning towards the larger of the three models becasue I can add more detail to it. I will make the center spire stand out more by riasing it and lowering the corner details. I am sure that more of the detail will stand out once I get some paint on the models. I will keep everyone posted on my progress. |
