So according to the fluff, the C'tan known as the Void Dragon is probably under Mars, and is possibly the Machine God worshipped by the Ad Mech.

So how about a Necron varient list focusing on the awakening of the Void Dragon, taking control of Mars?

It'd be a cross between Necrons and Ad Mech, focusing mostly on necrons vehicles and titans, but with skitari and necrons in support.

It is mentioned somewhere that the void dragon didn't use guass technology, it used lightning based weapons instead, which were longer ranged but much less effective against vehicles (30cm AP5+?). Standard necrons also would have access to lightning fields (invulnerable saves?).

Immortals would definately be out, as probably would be wraiths, being older converted necrons rather than the newer ones which would be seen in a void dragon army.

Units wise, I'm thinking something along these lines:

Necron warrior (lightning type)
Pariah
Tomb Spider
Obelisk
Monolith
Warbarque
Abbatoir
Warhound
Reaver
Warlord
Skittari
Servitors

Oh, and the void dragon.

Perhaps the titans should have living metal instead of shields?

I'd probably allow 50% of the points to be spent on war engines.

Either way, I'm just throwing ideas around, and I'd love to hear any suggestions people have.

The Abbatoir would belong on such a list! :) After all, it was made to represent him in the Necron. :)

Zombo, I've been working on a 'Denizens of the Tomb' Necron Variant that has some different ideas.  PM me your email address and I'll send you what I've got.  Pick and choose as you wish.
