So... Corey.  Welcome back first off.

What do you think about the proposed list of changes?  There appears to be a consensus over a broad range of topics; something I haven't seen much in Epic let alone for the Necrons.

I forgot to reference my new thread in this old one.

The limit exists for the same reason you can have only 1 C'tan.

You would never see more than one in any force, regardless of size.  As was mentioned, for most tournament lists, it merely drives home the rarity of those WE, but if you were playing an extremely large game (and I've seen some!) it really is a hard and fast limit. :)

Uhmmm.. Okay then.  Well, the Raiders update still needs to be done.  Since there seems to be some consensus, I guess we'll playtest what's been listed.

It will be both.  Raiders 2.0 will be available in print for anyone who doesn't already own the book (and I have about 50 people who already expressed an interest), as well as the people who just don't like the idea of stickers.  I'll also make the stickers for the people who already have the book and just want to update their stats.  And of course everything will be available for download for free as well.

going back to the formations keep blast markers off board suggestion, has anyone actually played it that way?i just got some games in w/ the new formations and you now have fewer activations. before it would of been easy, you have some formations that marshall while the others w/ no blast markers could continue to assault. next turn those units that marshalled could assault and so on. now w/ less activations i'm not sure it would be a good idea.

About a month ago.     It was my intention to get a lot of things done, but there has been a project I've been working on that took up massive amounts of my free time (which is at a premium this time of the year anyway).

I don't think anyone has ever tried it.  I'm thinking it will change the dynamic of the Necron, but in many respects that change may or may not nerf them.  In fact it may help them considerably.  The problem is people have complained about the BM removal without ever trying to play without it.  I'd like to give it a shot.

Corey: Any chance we could get your opinion on the proposed changes please?

it will be a train wreck. :)

But people will keep chipping away until it's a completely helpless force.  Only then will there be satisfaction.

How will you even know, considering you haven't played a game of Epic/Necrons in... years?

oh, don't mind me.

I have had a bad day, and I was really frustrated when I posted that.  Pay no attention to my surliness.

It hasn't been Years since I played, though it has been a while.

I'm willing to go along with testing what's the consensus.  I don't agree with some of it, but I know that people will not rest until the rules are changed so that there is no longer an appearance of a threat to that single Space Marine list.

See, that's the real problem there.  Once you start altering lists to fit how people play, instead of them learning to play however they need to in order to win, it starts a chain reaction.  It becomes easier and easier to keep changing it, every time the new hot thing comes around.

It's the same kind of creep that leaks into 40k, only in reverse.
