AA5+ makes single pylons even worse.

Ok, AA5+ and a points nudge, and maybe a DC change.

But the main thrust of my proposal is:

AA5+

I really don't want this to sound link I'm boasting. I guess for some reason my playstyle works very well with the Necron army. I find it easy to see what to do with them to leave my opponent little chance of victory. I have around an 80% victory rate with necrons (compared to about 40% with my dark eldar for example).

So why can't you bother to post even a basic battle report to show how this is done?  How is it that no other Necron commander is this effective?  We're all curious as to how you're doing this so effectively; you don't have to post anything fancy, just some activations and some pictures.

Could you post a couple of "usual" 3000 point Necron armies that you'd use?  If you're using a C'tan and a Warbarque in these fights, how are Pylons dominating if you've only got two in play?

Other necron commanders are this effective. See Nealhunt's post. When I played TRC he also said that he felt that played correctly they'd hardly ever lose. I haven't played with Necrons in a while, but next time I do I'll battle report it.

Deja vu

Actually I usually only take one as a self limitation, but I've found 2 to be the optimum level of nastiness with them.

zombocom- in your link above you only have one pylon in both armies. you said that only one is ineffective so how have you been dominating games then?

In my group it is the norm to try to take friendly lists and not full-on tourney level ones (unless prearranged otherwise of course). I don't find 2 pylons to be all that friendly.

It seems that Zombo is dominating with the Necrons *without* multiple Pylons... so that would seem to indicate that the problem doesn't actually lay with the Pylons.

Or it's possible that Pylons are too good, and the army as a whole is too good.

Those guys putting me in their top five for 'Open War' would seem to disagree.  :))

Plus Pulsar (Who Zombo has done some multi-Pylon tests with) placed higher than me at the last tourney we both attended.

(Yes I know you were joking)

E&C as a someone who plays against the necrons, do you think the whole list is overpowered or just the pylons?
this thread started out talking about tweeking units and prices now we've steered into a the whole list being broken. i might not have played as many games w/ the necrons as you guys seem to but i certainly wouldn't agree w/ the army being overpowered.

Oh I agree, pylons are by no means the biggest problem with the army.

Well, I believe that the loss of a C'tan should always award the opponent the "Break Their Spirit" goal, in addition to the most expensive formation, as It's literally the motivating "spirit" of the army.

I doubt I'd ever take a c'tan if that was the case. They're not that good apart from the c'tan bomb.
