They are both armored vehicles, so I think that their comparable size works out just fine.  Epic runs pretty fast and loose on scale anyway.

Nicely done. PM me when you can.

Looks great. If you change anything, I would suggest losing a little length from corner to corner along the horizontal axis and add just a little vertical height to the 'base'. Regardless, it looks fantastic.

Those are awesome.  It begs the question if one person can work on it, why the company has not.  I guess traditional methods are used by GW and the really cool stuff is only used for new things.  Maybe FW could learn from this and do some more minis in Epic scale this way.

Glad I found this topic before designing my own. The output of your printer looks similar to what we do here.

Is there some way we could persuade you into sharing the 3D file, so that others might continue your labor?

lol otter beat me too it ... again. i'm unfamiliar with the program your using but what format are your model files. i may have access to solids printer in later semesters and would love to play with producing some of these at school if i get the chance. (lots and lots of maybes in there i know). great job on all your prototypes bro, they look just awsome, and i gotta agree with everyone that your "failures" look just great. you must be bug eyed from staring at a comp. moniter :). if you need any more info on actuall size of 40k models my cousin in chicago has a pretty huge 40k necron collection and i'de be happy to e-mail him a list of specific questions, just let me know. and again fantastic stuff man, keep it up.

Exellent work. But yes, it seems a bit big compared to the Monolith. Could you rezise it? Ithink the crystal on top of the Obelisk doesn't have to be the same size as the one of the Monolith.

Another update: I'm still on it.

Getting back from Ireland and returning to my "normal" life took a little longer than expected, but I'm more or less done with that and (of course) eager to continue with this ;).

The bad news are: The last model I did in Ireland came out rather distorted, leaving me with some useless pieces of plastic on my way to the airport. This means I'll somehow have to do it here in Germany. I have some ideas who to ask but simply haven't done it yet.

The good news are... Well, that I'm still doing it :D ;). I'll just post another picture of what I'd like to have in my hands hopefully sooner than later. As I had some time, I now have another model to print - we'll see how it turns out.

About the requests for the model data: I have no problems sharing what I've got - as soon as I've got the first cast done or think that I've failed trying to get just that. Just give me a little time to try to do it on my own - and tell me what kind of format you need, I can actually export most formats used for sharing 3d data.

Hmm, so should I in fact be saving for a 3d printer? :)

My mechanical engineer tells me that he can import .igs and .stp

And I'm cool with you wanting the satisfaction of doing it on your own. But I implore you, back the files up somewhere. You may consider giving them to a third 'escrow' party, with a dead-man proviso. That is, if we don't hear from you in a year, the files get distributed to whoever wants to work on them.

Your efforts are YOURS, we don't want them to be in vain. Work on.

P.S. And no fair hogging up the pylon. I was going to try that. :D
