The last one I made was super easy and it was my first attempt at creating a scratch-built model that could be molded.  Rather than CADing it, I'd say it would be better to just do one up by hand.    THEN it would be worth it.  I sold 20 of them last time for around $3 each, so you can imagine that a better quality Warbarque would receive a lot more attention.

Aye, the disadvantage of CAD is that, especially for a limited target market like "Taccomms players who'd like to play Necrons" you'd have to charge a fairly large ammount for each one, unless you're happy with making a pretty respectable loss, in exchange for owning a beautiful model.

Plasti-card and greenstuffing one would be the way to go I think. We have the old sketches of what one could look like.

Who's our best sculptor/scratch builder that we could talk into it? Perhaps Apocolocyntosis might be up for the challenge?

I'd say Jonluke would be best for semi-traditional modelling (his Monolith was done with a circular saw and an etching rig, rather than CAD).

They're both really talented, but I'd go the other way for this myself - Apoc has put together some really fabulous models and copies of things and you also need to have excellent greenstuffing skills to model the baroque skulls and that.

Id certainly be interested in making one, although i am a *bit* busy currently. Thanks for the support  :agree:

As E&C said, Jonluke would probably do a better job of this since he's made monoliths before and has access to far better tools (not to mention far more experience!).

Although on the etching comment, i am currently experimenting with using copper plate engraving tools on plasticard  :p

If nothings been done by Christmas i might give it a go, although with the high rate of progress on all things zombie space robot,  i imagine it will be done before then by someone else.

Jonluke uses a laser for etching flat surfaces, typically.

In that case, i certainly vote Jonluke for warbbq manufacture :agree:

Keeping the line depth and width consistant using a burin on plastic is difficult
