From Warseeer Forums:
I've also seen proof of the rumored "necron phalanx", a triangle of monoliths that generate a field protecting whatever is inside.

Interesting?

No. Codex: Apocalypse is for WH40k Games of over 5000 points.
According to rumours there will be a plastic WH40k sized Baneblade from GW. A WH40k sized Ork Stompa was planned too but the casting seems to be to difficult.

to me it GW's way of supporting the epic rules.... but to the maximum of scale creep... 6mm, becomes 28mm... :p

it will be intresting tosee what new random rules they make up, (eg, to get necron players to buy lots of three mono's)

The rules for Apocalypse actually look distinctly unimpressive, at least so the rumours lead me to believe.

I hadn't heard the Necron-specific rumor, but multi-unit interactions (especially for the big boys) are rumored to be a staple of the Apocalypse supplement rules.  Rumors about things like spotters improving guess range weapons have been floating around for some time.

In the end, I think we just have to see what comes out and decide what will be feasible to port over into EA.  I honestly can't think of a non-fiddly way to convert something like the described effect.  The SM/TL Silver Tower rules had something like that but EA has studiously avoided such things.

If this rumor turns out to be true, one thing that clearly would make sense would be to allow Monoliths in formations of 3.

YIKES!  *laugh*

We'll definitely need to put a cap on Guass Flux Arc attacks if that's the case.  So zappy!  *laugh*

Well, I'm going to have some time without the wife & kids this summer, and my objective is to paint up my 5,000 points of Slaaneshi Chaos... so I'll be happy to give Apocalypse a go when it surfaces.

Ha! Well, yeah, that'd be nice. Currently bullying the friends I've found here who play wargames to try Epic. ("No, you're not allowed to start a Dark Angel army until you buy some Epic!")

I'm planning to finally get my Inquisition army something approching painted for Epic and get those army lists looking finished. Yeah, yeah, big words from someone who has painted next to nothing in two years...
