The second of our Necron battles against another "original" army... and it was actually 2500 points, not 2000. *sigh*

Speeder 2 jumps on Eques 1, engaging in a skimmer dogfight, and takes out all the Heavy Destroyers with no damage in return.
Phalanx 2 engages the struggling remnants of Scout 1, and wipes the broken unit out, losing a single Necron Warrior.
Phalanx 3 synchronizes the Portals of Monoliths 1 and 3 to engage the Whirlwinds far away? the Necrons destroy 2 Whirlwinds and the Hunter and suffer no losses themselves.

Oddly, I think the Space Marines were the more interesting half of this battle with that army list.
Did you guys feel that bringing a scout army was the reason for the loss, or was it just that the SMs were outplayed?

Quote (Moscovian @ 26 May 2006 (17:11)) | Oddly, I think the Space Marines were the more interesting half of this battle with that army list. ?
Did you guys feel that bringing a scout army was the reason for the loss, or was it just that the SMs were outplayed? | Actually, the "Heavy Recon" army has been quite successful in our play group.
I'd say my problem with them (I fielded the Marines in this game) was more my lack of experience with them... I'm usually the guy fielding the heretics and xenos scum, not the Pride of the Imperium, so I was still learning my troops...
And a 3-2 loss isn't that bad for Marines. *laugh*
