Hey guys, newbie logging on.

I've just picked up an imperator on ebay, but now ive received it ive discovered that for some reason the knees have been glued on back to front, creating the chicken pattern imperator. Not a brilliant look so i'm going to basicaly have to saw the legs apart at the greeves and hips. As i'm doing this i figured that it might provide the perfect opurtunity to try reposing the titan a bit which reminded me of a WIP i came across yonks back.

It was an imperator that had been converted to look like it striding forwards, about to step up onto a pile of ruins and twisted gurders. It looked amazing and id love to have a go at modding my titan to look similar. Unfortunatly i cant find the pics anywhere and i have no where i saw them or whose model it was.

So basicaly i'm asking for any assistance you guys can give in tracking down the pics of this model cos as i remember it looked absolutly fantastic.

Many thanks

Phil

Remember, if all goes astray, I can provide thigh and shin replacements.

Before you go cutting check to see if it was glued with super glue or plastic model cement.  If superglue was used I suggest soaking the Imperator in Super Clean (in a dark purple jug) found in the automotive cleaning products section of many stores.  In my experience it has, on occasion, while stripping the paint also has loosened the grip of super glue on the plastics it was gluing.  While you are quite welcome repose your Imperator I'd want for you to have options.

I remember the pic you are talking about.... Hmmm... YEah... but I can't remember who did it. My spider senses tell me that it was someone UK based but I'm not sure.
Somehow Firestorms name keep popping into my head but it is really just a guess.
Maybe it is just someone who doesn't frequent the forums very much anymore. Regardless it would be great to see some progress on that model. I too have ben wanting to do something similar or my Grand Master of the Legio Metalica (Whoops: Did I just reveal one of my next projects  :p :D )

If this is the one you were on about, then you're correct, WMN! :)

And well remembered, both of you :) ?I still need to finish it, I intend to do so when I get round to making the rest of my AMTL army... so in about 12 years time :p

Oh my, that spider sense never fails :p :D

Great model Firestorm. Any chance of a few close ups of the legs. Side and reat shots in particular. :)

Cool! Thanks :)

Am I right in thinking that the right leg (model's right) isn't really altered at all except the front "toe"? So the main cutting would be the knee joint on the left leg?

Yeah, that's about right.  Straight forward enough, I just scored along the underside of the Left front toe and bent it sufficiently.

Very nice work Firestorm, not too complex yet very effective.

The slight shift of the head adds a lot to the sense of motion as well. A final detail would be to pan the Plasma Annihilator slightly to the side I think. This could be done by trimming the small peg that connects it to the main body.

Damn, I had this very idea last fall in the middle of my casting mania. But Firestorm had long beaten me to it.

It's amazing how much better that old model looks with a little re-posing.

A favourite of mine is to replace the rediculous dunce-hat towers with some of the enclosed gun turrets from the Mega-gargant.  Perfect fit and they look so much better.
