Hello! I have been very recently painting tyranids, but when doing so i remembered that a friend of mine had an entire squat army almost unpainted. So he gave me some models to paint them, but then i have a problem: How am i supposed to do so? How would yo do it? i thought something like this:

- Imprimate with black
- Use red and green for the uniforms and armour
- Paint the faces' flesh, then the beards
- Paint the helmets, the weapons and the vest?s emblem

Any comment from all the squat owners around?

Paint them in camo - dwarves can look good in camo colours :). They don't need to look like garden gnomes.

Prime black.  Drybrush them with DA Green, then again with a 50/50 mix of DA and Snot Green.  Paint faces flesh; guns, "earmuffs" and some beards/mos black.  Boots, belts, gloves and the rest of the beards/mos brown.  Paint the badge white then another colour if desired, and the gun (and belt buckle if you're keen) boltgun metal.  lightly drybrush the beards with a lighter colour if you want.  Worked ok for me.

If you want camo, after the second green drybrush, paint a striped camo scheme with a fairly dry brush in either Snakebite Leather or Codex Grey.  Then follow the steps as previous.

Yep prime black dry brush and wash from there. Weapons and Helms last. And Tom and Zap are correct ... camo/tac colors ... not garden gnomes !  :)

Thanks. But the two at the right of the picture are from Chariot, the owner of the squats (who is really slow when it comes to painting, that?s why i?m painting his dwarfs while he paints my FOW panzers)

This guys are multiplying!

Very nice, Yuber. For the bases I usually go with green for grass, but you can choose a lot of different schemes, like sand colored or grey for an urban look.
