Well the book also sugggests some orangeish or brownish variant schemes so I wouldn't be too concerned with this colorscheme being set-in-stone canon. There's plenty of colors in the orangish, reddish, brownish, bonecolored palette that could look pretty nifty :;):

And, for a painting quite you only really need to do 1 stand of 'Gaunts (taking, say, 4 pictures on the way), and 1 bio-tank doing the same, I'd reckon.  *laugh*

All my 'Nids are SIB since SM2 ... looked them over last night. Plan on adding some Pendraken and GZG Aliens.  Like for Raveners. And I'm using the OOP Space Fleet 'Nid Ships for Harridans, M/Spores, and Bio Tanks. Oh sorry ... a bit OT anyway ... I'm still not sure of what I want as a paint scheme ... I think Jaldon made a good point, that all the different types of 'Nid Infantry is painted in different colors, it make ID easier ... :alien:

This post is really interesting for me as i have a lot of tyranids waiting for some paint. Which are the differences between the different hivefleets? Is it their direction, the part of the galaxy in which they are or the kind of troops they field? &, now that i think of it, which fleet ate the Squat Homeworlds?
