Iam painting A Flesh Tearer Army and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to make the detail stand out on a mostly black 6mm marine? |

Try drybrushing the details. |

Depends. A plain old black ,use charcoal grey and maybe a lighter grey for additional highlighting. If you want a rich blue-black, use dark blue and maybe a blue-grey. If you want a brownish-black use a chocolate brown. A red tint might look good with the fleshtearer stuff, so possibly a chocolate brown with a red for lighter areas. Best thing to do is figure out what you think will give the effect you want and try a test piece. |

For flesh tearers, try brick red directly over the black - should work. A medium brown drybrush (lighter than the brick red in shade and in thickness) can be used as a drybrushed highlighter. |

I went a little heavy with the brick red and gave it a mild ink wash worked good. Thanks for the input. |

I did a FT army and used a dark blue drybrush over the black so it looked like a very glossy black colour and contrasted nicely with the red |
