Hi everyone,
Just want to share a few pics of 2 newly (and mostly) completed project. (some may have already seen the Orks)
if you are in a hurry here are the links: Orks Blood Angels
First let's just say that I was a bit in a hurry so I took pics right after completion, so the pics are so-so and I'll have to learn to take proper pics of miniatures one day....
Orks This project began mid 90's, and was completed a week ago (!), this horde was supposed to be my brother's as I was playing Eldar, but I inherited the project.
For years it was not used (epic 40k era), and when Epic A came out, I found the courage to get back to it. The problem was that I bought every new model available and thus end it up with alot of models, so that increased the modeling effort quiet a bit.
I decided that I would mix models from different era. It seemed a good idea at first. I also had to decide if I was keeping the square base stands or build new rectangular stands. I decided to build new rectangular stands and donated the old ones. I had to decide if I was integrating the old feral stuff into the new stuff, or keep it for a future Feral army, decided to put them aside for now.
Finally there is only one thing I can say, I'm not sure if any of these decisions were good! Any decision would of been good I'm sure, Orks are fine on whatever base, whatever color, whatever model, I even throwed a couple of gorgons and a leman russ in there and the boyz are happy...
Orks
Blood Angels Ok, now this one also dates back to the second edition, I wanted to build a new Marine army based on the new models, but my mind kept insisting that the old Marines had to be completed first. This army was used by a friend that no longer plays, I would face his army with my Eldar on a regular basis. He also had IG stuff like bombards, thud guns, shadowswords, robots and one Ordinatus (that used to hurt!). I kept the IG stuff aside and just concentrated on what he had started.
He chose Blood Angels, and back then Blood Angels were orange....That color actually looked pretty nice on the table, in fact with the scale coloring efect they often looked red! Only problem is I could'nt match the exact orange color he used and decided to repaint everything blood red.
All models are from that era except the Reaver which was bought recently. I always wanted to paint a Reaver ever since I saw one in White Dwarf (89?), took 15 years but it's done...
The Reaver is the model I enjoyed paiting the most, even know I can't paint white and chose a blue/red and white pattern. Also I used black Gesso for the first time on the Reaver and was pretty happy with it. I don't think I'll ever use spray paints again.

Now I can't wait to start the project I wanted to do all along, a new SM army, with the new models, this time I am aming for completion in 1 month, not 15 years.
