Hello guys,
I belive last week I showed you some classic battletech minis from Ironwind Metals. ?I thought some of those minis would serve nicely as epic ork proxies.
Well I put my money where my mouth is and I brought a few of these minis. ?
The following photos are side by side comparisons against the GW figures. ?
I hope this helps....enjoy
The first picture is of the Hiemdall Monitor Tank. ?A real brute of a tank.

Here we have it against a Gargant. ?While beefy the Gargant still wins this category.

Here is the tank with a Stompa. ?Not so tough without your big brother are you. ?
So I'm thinking I'm going to use this as a "count as" Super Stompa

And here we are against a old scholl battlefortress. ?As a note this is the largets battle/gun fortress in th range. ?The latest GW is much smaller than this one.

Next up we have a Mithras Tank with a plastic battlewagon and an IG Leman Russ.
I think this mini fits in nicely into the Gun Wagon category.

Now they start getting a little bigger. ?Ironwind and Battletech in general is horrible about scale creep and consistency of scale within there minis.
This is the Ares Tank and in the battle tank game universe it is smaller/lighter than the two tanks above. ?Go figure.
It appears that this tank is too big to be considered a gun wagon so I have to "count as" a Stompa. A Stompa with only big guns of course.
Talking to Vanvlak we "game-logic" the 4+ close combat ability by representing ork tank riders that join the tank in battle. ?That may be fun to model on a base as well.

They next one is the funniest because it is the smallest of the vehciles in game stats, but turned out to be the biggest mini. ?
Here is the Zorya "Light" Tank. ?Once agin by comparison I'm thinking Stompa in stats.

Here we have the heavy tracked APC next to the ork battlewagon and a IG Chrimera from GW. ?I think this does quite well as a battlewagon.

On with the parade.
Here is the Morrigu Fire Support Vehicle. ?While bigger than the battlewagon I think it is still within reason.
As such I'm hoping to use it as a gunwagon oddboy upgrade with a super-zap-gun.
