It's the kiddo's first birthday tomorrow. One *might* be a bit too young for Epic but we're putting together a time capsule for him that he'll open on his eleventh birthday. That seems just about right to start playing, given my experience, so we'll see how he likes this Land Raider then.

Image

Red's a fairly common chapter scheme, so I left iconography off it for now. I was going to do Genesis Chapter but this way he'll have a few more choices.

Great idea. Lovely colours on this - very satisfying.

Agreed, very satisfying, and like the way youve done the lights on the front, not seen the area above those little front hatches picked out that way before

Thanks guys.

I'd like to eventually play Lasalle with these TravelBattle French but there's not quite enough there for a standard game. Between that and painting an opposing force I thought I'd remove one obstacle by laser cutting some sabots to use with Blücher.

Image

Two Lasalle stands per Blücher base will make for a decent sized force, now all I have to do is paint an oppsing force. :P

Image

The bases are the "global standard" 1.75"×1.25". Odd, but it allows me to stick some mini card sleeves underneath to keep track of the units and their abilities during the game. Additionally, a BW of 1.75" means my 30"×40" printed mat is the perfect size for a game.

why did you have to post this now … i've been trying to suppress a resurgence of napoleonic urges this last week (having just watched some reviews of the free valour & fortitude rules), then just found my Blücher chits last night while unpacking some epic bits. Looking good though!

There's a secret forum where we plan out taking turns at tempting your wargaming proclivities. It was my turn this week.

I finally finished the horses for my 15mm Polybian Roman allied cavalry this week. I still need to do the shields for them, but that's going to involve a conversion as I don't have enough of the two types to split them how I like for easy unit identifcation.

I played Crossfire nearly twenty years ago at ConnectiCon '05 and picked up the rulebooks shortly after. They've sat on my shelf since then, until earlier this year when I cracked them open after re-watching some Little Wars TV. Since I had the Americans painted I thought I'd try some sabot bases like I did for my ancients in order to double dip them with Crossfire.

Image

I still need to flock everything. Maybe one of these days I'll put my order in to Scenic Express and get the flocks I'm after to match my mat. In the meantime though they might see some action at our monthly games day in a Crossfire trial with Karl, Destroyer of Breadsticks.

So I've been running silent with these for the past two months, but with NEAT this weekend it's time for their grand-ish unveiling.

I didn't quite get as far as I hoped but these are done enough for NEAT. They need some gloss and dullcotes, and their flocking and tufts, but otherwise they're good enough to bring the pain this Saturday.

Image

I also might add some heat destoration to the weapons, if I can find a technique I like.

After that, it's on to the scout Titans, and the rest.

I bet they're doing something untoward in a corner somewhere...

I topcoated the Slaanesh knights this week, then added some flock and a few alien tufts. They're done for real this time.

Thanks Apoc.

I've been working on these Noise Marines in the Flawless Host scheme for the last month or so. Thoughts on the actual Noise Marine model? I'm not sure on the weapon, specifically. I'm wondering if I should add some color somewhere.

Image

Anyway, they're almost done bar the basing and Noise Marines. These Epic 40k era plastic figures have a crazy ammount of detail on them, and I'm compelled to try and paint all of it (hense the long paint time). Sourcing the standard marines was slightly easier than straight Noise Marines so I just did a single one per stand to represent the Blast Master they have.

Image

The Icon Bearer is stock, but I put a pin head on the bottom of his plinth and a magnet in the base so I can pop him on there when I need it. Not sure what I'm going to do with the banner yet, maybe just a Flawless Host decal.

Image

The Champion is a Berzerker conversion, I head swapped a Daemoneete head on to it.

Absolutely beautiful work on both the noise marines and the knights! I had no idea those Epic 40k minis were so detailed, that paint job has really brought out the best in them.
