Well, if the game actually goes well when I finally get a chance to play, my next plan is to do a Minervan force, so there will be superheavies (I already have some Shadow Swords that I was planning to use with Polyversal, but I'm holding off on painting them for now, as they will become Minervan tanks instead, if the plan goes ahead). |

6,000pts of Salamanders is finally complete. I might need to paint up a rhino just in case I choose to deploy a second tactical formation with multimeltas with rhinos. And I will pick up some drop pods, and may do up a few extra bits and pieces to give myself options to mix and match. But, other than the drop pods, I will probably do that as needed. Next, I move on to my Minervan traitor legion. Minis are on the way.

My Minervan force is close to done. 99% Vanguard minis. Superheavies  Shadowswords  Stormswords These are Assassin chassis, the main gun is a cut down siege howizter. For two I used spare Scorpion inferno cannons for the flamers (one inferno makes two heavy flamers). For the third, I used a warstalker flamer, which is a bit oversized, but it does the job. All Vanguard parts.  Eight Leman Russ Variants  Air Support   Manticore  Hydras  And, some drop pods for my Salamanders.

I was really worried I wasn't going to do this guy justice. I'd say this is the best paint job I've done. 29 hours since the box was opened. Since then, I've basically been painting, assembling or sleeping. End result is an excellent start to my Skitarii force.     [And yes, I'm aware I have the feet the wrong way around. I decided to live with it, rather than risk breaking something.  ]

I keep reading about this feet the wrong way thing with Reavers. Always having trouble quite identifying what exactly is wrong in the picture. Evidently it's plain as day but I'm dense I guess. |

The slant on the toes is wrong. If the feet were around the other way, the slant on the lower covers over the foot tendons would match the slant on the upper edge of the toes, instead of being opposed. It's not a really big deal, and I probably wouldn't have noticed myself if I hadn't seen someone else online point it out as a possible problem. |

It’s not backwards front to back, it’s backwards left to right, and these edges should be parallel instead of forming an angle. Is that right?

The Reaver took a solid day of work. The Warlord took a bit more than a week. Taking that long to paint a mini is not something I do, but I'm happy with the result on this occasion.

Thanks for the kind words. Ordinatus Minorus with landing pad, courtesy of Microworld.  The white bridge is a bit stark, but hopefully it doesn't look so bad with plenty of white-cloaked Skitarrii about. |
