The trees on the left are GW Barbed Bracken on top of trunks made from sections of GW Creeping Vines with the vines leaves cut off. I'm also making lots of twisted wire trees, some with clump foliage for leaves, some using the old 40k jungle tree tops and others (including the one on the right in the photo) using the cut off leaves from the Creeping Vines carefully glued on to the end branches. I'm also using cut up Wood Elf dryad bits as the basis for other small trees and shrubs. All the jungle :)

Sorry for going on a bit of a tangent from your thread by the way. I'll make my own one for the army at some point once I've got paint on them.

Those look good, makes me want to rummage through my stores to find my stock of Tau and get painting them.
But the thought of having to clean the surfaces and the brittleness puts me off.

I'm trying to make an armoured army only :D

I must admit that even the finish quality of the some of the Hammerheads can be questionable. I can only assume that they were later casts as the molds were degrading.

I'm trying to cope with the brittleness by basing my army in a jungle. There will be trees sticking up that get touched and picked up instead of the fragile infantry themselves then.

Those kroot in amongst the trees is a great idea! I might do something similar but with an ruined urban style instead. I cold place the rubble/ buildings in a way that would protect the minis. I haven't even basd any infantry yet but they seemed fairly tough for their comparative size and while I was cleaning them up. Maybe the real 'fun' will begin when I actually glue them down.

No need to apologise, Glyn. That's the whole point of a thread in a forum; discussion.

I've finally finished* all the first coats on the Hammerheads. The pace slowed quite a bit towards the end as the repetition of task started to get to me. In the future I'll make a decision to either add detail in the form of an accent colour, or paint on some kind of camo to break them up.

Looking forward to finally getting on to the supremacy armour and stormsurges. At some point I'll have to crack on to the infantry, which I'm not looking forward to.

*I noticed upon taking the photos that there are two ion cannon turrets that I missed. I'll go back to them at another time.
