Back to assembly! For the Biovores I was going to press-mould an Epic Gargoyle head, but then realised that I'm never going to use all fifty of the Gargoyles so simply cut some up. It was somewhat simpler...  I also mocked up a Spaceship (another big difference in the FERC list is Spaceships and Drop Pod equivalents):     Although I also have some bits of a 40k Sporocyst (the model in the stock photo is on a 40mm base) and an old Spacefleet Eldar ship that could be caught up in the tentacles...

With some proxies and a bunch of blu-tacked models, Blip and I attempted a 3k game against his Black Legion, which went disastrously wrong for the Nids. This was partly due to the 3k list being a mish-mash to reach the points level, partly down to dice but also due to a big chunk of bad tactical decisions on my part with good tactical decisions from Blip. But it made for some nice photos.          P.S. By bad dice rolling, we're talking a pair of Hierodules with 8 FF5+ attacks getting one hit (saved), and in return suffering five hits. Three of those go on the Hierodule Prime with 5+ Reinforced Armour and an Invulnerable save. It fails all three saves and dies, leaving the non-Fearless Hierodule on it's own to die from hackdown hits... ![:{[]](./images/smilies/headbang.gif "Headbang")

Next came some scavenged Lictors, and scratch-built Exocrines - going with the idea of them being big walking guns. They're made from a Tyranid Warrior head, Deathspitter barrel and the fingers of a Tyranid Warrior as the legs.

Then it was Biotitan time! After scouring eBay for some time, I managed to pick up a 40k Carnifex for £11 including postage, and immediately started chopping it up and reassembling it. This was for an 'AT2018'-size Hierophant.    P.S. All the flat bases are from Renedra, and the holed bases from John/Vanguard. |

The gun arms and the head were magnetised, with a plan to have the 'short' gun arms in these photos and a smaller head without the tentacles for use as a Hierophant, and longer gun arms and the tentacle maw for use as a Hydraphant. Then they had some Orks over for dinner.

And then... The other plan for a Hydraphant reasserted itself as I managed to pick up an unassembled and mostly complete Tyrannofex!           KAIJU ATTACK! |

The Contemptor that's getting picked up involved silly amounts of cutting and reposing...  I also got some paint on the big spine thing. Definitely terrain rather than gaming piece, and even then it's a bit big.    Finally for now, and bringing the thread up to date, I got hold of some exquisite OOP forumware Carnifexes, and not so exquisite multipart Warriors:

Ta and ta! Having some of the original Carnifexes is partly what prompted the army! Although I'm mostly using them as Haruspexes because they're so big. |
