So yeah, I got some sprues of the old 2nd ed Chaos Space marines, very cool ... except for the Thousand Son and World Eater Space Marines, their little horn/head-dress's will snap if you look at them wrong it seems. Maybe my knife isn't sharp enough but I just can't seem to cut them free with a small amount of pressure being applied to the horns and than SNAP. Any advise on that? Other than sharper knife I suppose. Anyway to 'repair' them to look somewhat complete again? |

Use a sprue cutter, cut further away and then use the knife to trim while the piece is supported against a cutting mat or something firm. |

Sprue cutters are life changing after using a knife. Spend the 10 bucks, its worth it! |

And here's one that the helm wings broke off while removing from the sprue. They are Chaos after all …

Thanks Legion, yeah I was more miffed because I wanted some 'Thousand Sons' for my army. I was able to salvage some of the worst ones due to their 'wings' being partially still attached to the sprue ... removed the section in question and glued them back into place, before very carefully slicing the wings loose later. |
