Hello all! I'm Bryan Merlonghi, a complete 6mm FREAK! I'm a professional painter and teacher, featured on Geek & Sundry's Painters Guild show, as well as having won a previous Epicomp for the Open category! Very nicely painted! Great work with the hazard stripes and rusted base detail ![]() I'd suggest trying to disguise where the circles meet the base better though as they stand out a lot at the moment. You could drill holes to put them in with a 6mm wide drill bit then disguise with a bit of filler as needed to make them flat. Or cut most or all of the circle off before attaching then the the base as Elsmore describes here (his thread is inspirational and well worth a look generally anyway if you're not familiar with it). |

Ah! GlynG! This is just to show placement! These aren't finished. The ground isn't finished, and actually neither is the structure itself! I'm sorry, should have prefaced that... Ah fair enough, I'd looked at the photo but not your actual blog before. Do checkout Elsmore's models above too, his are the best based epic models I know of with the individual bases well detailed and the units themed as area dioramas. Use two part epoxy glue instead should you not want the white superglue blooming (not that it really matters before painting). |
