Dave wrote: Those are huge! Yeah, it's a problem, i've got 28mm, 20mm, 10mm, and 3mm napoleonics on my desk and how are you meant to choose … the 10mms were nice and easy to paint. I think 3mms are going to be best for something meaningful army wise. I'm stuck between wanting to be able to arrange men into squares, column, etc, but also find multi base battalions a bit of a fiddle and really want to play at a higher level. My current aim is to have the odd 28mm as one off figures to paint, 10mm battalion level. 3mm brigade+ level. |

More daemon engines, this time exploring the speed paint options of pink contrast paint: got these off someone on taccom years ago, so whoever it was who traded me 3 de-tabbed hell striders, cheers, i finally painted them |

Looking good! Just realised you made the Cannon of Khorne slightly less goofy, with those additions to the barrels. |

Day by day I am more drawn to splash out on the Contrast paints and try to really get into using them regularly, lovely work! |

The end results are not as good as proper painting, but in my first decade of painting epic i somehow only did … 1.5 armies? last couple of years the lead mountain has really been making me want to just get stuff done and table ready. Speaking of – this has become my first big painted addition to my chaos army for some time, progress so far. Contrast Voluptuouse Pink and Terradon turquoise. Dave wrote: 10mm Napoleonics though? Lol. I've got some 3mm sci-fi, haven't gone down that painting road yet... The knights look more than tabletop quality, how long did they take? |

I can not comprehend how you made the chaos knight engines look so good . I have never seen any that looked good and now i am kicking myself for not buying some when i had a chance. Your work Apoc is always very inspiring |

Cheers both Dave wrote: , how long did they take? Hard to say as I wasn't working on them very consistently, but didn't feel like very long: for the smaller ones especially it's contrast out of the bottle for 90% of the mini then add in extras with normal paint.Dave wrote: Lol. I've got some 3mm sci-fi, haven't gone down that painting road yet... Talking of, im now in a 3mm arms race with elsemore, which has distracted me from slaanesh knights and planned warmaster projects. I'm only keeping up by channelling my inner L4 and skipping basing. I had been going to use the blue army he painted, but thought I should probably just get some inf done to match the AFVs i'd done years ago … and now somehow ive started a second army in red. |

Those reds and browns look excellent - really effective. I had a head start in this arms race, but I fear it won't be long before the power of Contrast proves too much for my out-dated painting methods. I do like that command centre - must paint one. |

bit more 3mm for me, pushing on with the a red army. Will use VGM 3mm infantry, but 3d print tanks, keeing the VGM tanks for my DG. Cant remember why i bought blood red contrast originally, but it's perfect for this (clue is in the name …?). scale vs epic rhino |
