So, why crazy - I can't focus! It's insane... It's also great, and huge!!!  I decided to go back to my Ultramarines Chapter and as the 2nd company is finished already, it's time for the 3rd one. I've had the Land Raiders, Bikers as some other minis done for a long time, and had the Whirlwinds in my painting station for a couple of years now, so finally decided to paint them up:  Next up... Who knows...

They seem bit dark for the Ultrasmurfs, but the color and highlighting are beautiful |

Man that's going OLD SKOOL on the smurfs! Back in RT days they were a helluva lot darker, NA. Matched up with the 3rd edition plastivs, it's awesomesauce! |

Thanks guys! I decided a long time ago that all my ultras would be old school and I thought that going extreme on the highlights would make them really nice when deployed for battle. My brother's more or less doing the same in 28mm, so we have matching forces for whenever we play them in campaigns. I'm following along the same style I did back in ToEG2012 - It was back then that I started writing up how to do different stuff painting-wise. The idea is to eventually have the whole chapter done like this! |

And maybe Aeronautica Imperialis for all the air intercepts and air to ground attacks  We have been thinking of something akin to this, believe it or not - my brother is big into Warhammer 40K Conquest, the card game, and we were considering that it's a nice system to develop into a quick campaign. Use the cards to set up battles, then fight the larger ones in Epic and the smaller ones with 28mm (we're actually using 40k 2nd ed rules for the extra granularity, but have tried a bunch of other stuff other than current 40k, like Space Crusade, In the Emperor's Name, Necromunda, etc) |
