Post subject:  New Epic Project - Sisters of Battle

Hello all,

recently i picked up a new project involving Epic, which unlukily i don't play too often, but is a game i love. To take a break from my Kult of Speed list, i decided to reconnect with the army i extensively played years ago in 40k, the Sisters of Batttle.

Models will be a mixture of Onslaught and Vanguard miniatures, along with GW plastic tanks, properly modfied when needed, and something almost totally scratchbuilt.

My SoB where mainly black, but i wanted something more stimulating to paint this time, so i picked a different scheme. I think i will keep some black for things like the Redemptionist's Rhinos or the Inquisitor's Valkirie.

So here's the first batch of tanks finished, the backbone of the army's anti-tank and anti-air.

I looked a bit around the net to see if there were already nice exorcist launchers, but i didn't ended totally satisfied anywhere, so i made 3 of them from plasticard rods and made a small mold of them, and then glued them on the back of old rhinos.

I know that the Hunter should be a missile launcher, but i too much loved the Quad-Cannon look, so i have gone for that proxy.

As soon as i will get a moment, i will take and add pics of the Exorcists/hunters on finished bases and of the two Lightning Fighters that i finished on the weekend.

Next on the production line is a formation of Sisters Repentia, and yesterday i made a mold of my scratchbuilt Penitent Engines that i'm curious to see how turned out. Please no mean comments about me idling on penitent models of dubious effectiveness instead of focusing on the "main" infantry formations first :P

So, C&C always welcomed! :D

the exorcists are really good. the colour scheme is also really good and helped by the fact that you paint really well. Full marks, I can't wait to see more

Those are lovely!

You have a great eye for contrast; your recess and edge tones are perfect.

Great colour scheme, wonderfully done, the only negative is that it reminds me I need to get on with mine!

Here i'm again with a little update about my SOB army.

I managed to finish some Air Support in the form of two Lightning planes, and then i focused on a formation that i really wanted to work on: the Penitent Engines.

Loving their 40k fluff and models, i really wanted to be able to field them properly in Epic too. Unlukily, i didnt found anything that satisfied me fully for the models (i discovered just yesterday that the Onslaughts's Stygian line has a contraption with a human figure strapped to it, so it might have been a good starting point, my bad) so i decided to try to convert and sculpt mine by myself. I also added some power-flails at the concept, along with the buzzsaws (like those of the arco-flagellants) to add some dynamism and eye-catching contrast between the flames and the blue. Since they are penitent models, they escape the color scheme of the army.

I have to say that i'm quite satisfied of the result (will give the final sealing varnis this weekend) and can't wait to field those. Now i just have to hope that those are not totally crap on the battlefield :P

Pics are totally crap, but you probably already noticed that!

As usual, C&C welcomed!
