It's mostly because I had a limited array of different looking basic infantry, I had to find some way of making Sisters, Dominions, Retributors and Celestians look different so went with good old fashioned GW approach of sticking different colours on (e.g.: space marine devastators with red helmets, assault with yellow helmets, elite with white helmets, etc.)
