So, the Baccus 6mm infantry are super economical, with about 10 bucks CAD getting me 96 soldiers, will make it easy to fill out all those big Imperial Guard formations.

But, here's my dilemma. I absolutely love the whole gasmask look like the Novan Winter Infantry, or, obviously, the Death Korps of Krieg. Problem is, those models are much more expensive, and it just so happens that DKoK has the enormous formation of 19 infantry and command, which would mean it would cost me over 45$ CAD for that one single formation. Even though I absolutely love the Novan Winter Infantry, for the huge Guard formations I just can't afford anywhere near that cost right now :(

So here's my question. What does everyone here think of being able to just paint the faces of the 6mm WWI or WWII infantry to look like a gas mask? Has anyone ever tried to do this? Just by painting the face leather brown, painting the eyes a big round dark color or whatever lens color, and paint a mouthpiece? I feel like it would either work brilliantly, or horrendously, and I'm just curious if anyone else has tried anything similar because those Baccus 6mm infantry are calling to me lol

Do what works for you ... But if you look close you'll be able to tell the difference. You could use thick paint on the faces to make them look like a "gas mask".
However, note in the military ... you don't wear a Protective Mask all day. Only when there is a threat of chemicals in use. So I wouldn't worry about it.

yeah, I bit the bullet and ordered a bunch of Baccus6mm stuff. I might do a test mini to see if the painted-gas-mask idea works, but if it doesn't I'm not too concerned, I'll just paint them with faces
