Thanks guys :)

Finished up the Warlord & Reaver I was working on, along with some plasma weaponry for them:

Image

Happy with how they turned out. Getting back to my Knights for AT while I wait on some armor to come in for the Imperial Guard force. Well, splitting hobby time between working on painting up some primed Knights and building myself a modular city board for Epic, but that's a topic for another sub-forum ;)

So I lost access to my Photobucket, and I don't particularly feel like paying their absurd prices for hosting, but apparently Blogger will let me host images! So here's me restarting my hobby blog and making an attempt at cross-linking from it so I can update Taccoms ;)

I'll start with a little more on what I've worked on for Adeptus Titanicus over the last year. It's only +2 Titans... but quite a lot of new weapons options (some with official rules and some just for funsies):

First things first, Ultima Ratio Regum, my Warmaster Titan, which walked out of the forge back in March of 2022.

After that, I finished up Fulgur Ferram, a Dire Wolf Titan around August 2022 after getting absolutely lcoekd down by one during a narrative event in WV earlier that summer.

IMG_5637.jpg
IMG_5637.jpg [ 1.19 MiB | Viewed 1597 times ]

Then it was a handful of funsies weapons for AT, two of which got obsoleted by GW releasing their own versions, a Warlord radiation cannon, as well as Reaver graviton & conversion beamer cannon.

That, of course, fed straight into GW releasing their own versions of gravs & conversion beamers. Those finally got painted up in May of 2023.

Warlord Graviton & Conversion Beamers:

So... I hit the attachment cap for this post, so I'll add this to the thread, necro myself up, and then start up part two with the Reaver & Warhound guns, as well as the knife & putty work I did to convert up a Warbringer grav cannon ;)

And yeah, I know, some of the previews are upside down. It's messing with my OCD, but I can't seem to find a a way to fix the previews, so it is what it is for now.

Always loved the original 2nd Edition scheme; they're always going to be the "main" Legio and get all the toys first, as I paint stuff up.

Speaking of which, more graviton cannon & conversion beamers! This time, the Reaver & Warhound versions:

As for the Reaver carapace guns:

And if I feel like running a long range sniper Warhound:

I do like the designs GW came up with for these weapons, particularly the long rows of capacitors or fuses powering the grav weapon. They also statted these much more appropriately than their first pass attempt at doing conversion beamers. Still, interested in seeing the next round of plastic Warhound weapons (melta, missiles, etc.) come out, as well as the Dire Wolf kit for that alternate conversion beamer. The Warhound doesn't really have the reactor track in AT to support multiple long range conversion beamer shots, so really, you're using it more often as a close quarters assault gun to keep the reactor cold.

I did also work on some options for my Warbringers this summer. Still working on the Conversion Beamer, but you can probably figure out where I'm going from here:

I did finish my Graviton Ruinator conversion for my Warbringers though. Here's the finished product, and a few construction stage shots to give you an idea of how I cut down the Volcano Cannon, mounted the Grav components, and did a little gap-filling. Happy with how it turned out for my first real conversion work in a few years:

Ran out of uploads for this post, so the next one will be the BattleBling Sunfury Annihilator, and then I'll transition into the War Griffons ;)

Not a lot of conversion here, and this would probably fight in Epic as a Reaver with a Plasma Destructor & Carapace Multilasers, TBH, but it's a fun assault gun build in AT if your opponent's down with it.

Now, about the War Griffons... I decided I needed a loyalist OpFor for demo games (& because the Upstate NY/North Jersey AT guys really, really tend toward Traitor legios), and I love the Reaver chassis... so War Griffons.

You've seen these guys in the painting competition, so I'll try to share some different photos. I painted up the Warhounds over March/April 2022, with the first Reaver in May, and the second Reaver around August/September, about the same time I was working on Iron Warriors aerospace (more on that later...).

Aeterno Rex & Fidelis Natus are my first two Reavers, with Venator Lux and Nobilis rounding out the force so far. I'm using the old school shoulder armor (thanks again, BattleBling, for hobby stuff like that!) to represent the up-armored upgrade for Gryphonicus Reavers.

And yeah, just like I did some Sons of Horus squads as battlefield assets for my Legio Tempestus, I put together some Imperial Fists fire teams to support the Legio Gryphonicus engines:

I have a few Malinax knights I'm currently working on, and then it's back to the War Gryphons for a bit, with a third Reaver, a Warbringer, and a Dire Wolf primed & awaiting paint. After that... I should really get back around to working on my forumware Suturvora. I've been talking up the Siegelord and Banelord long enough, it's about time I get those conversion bits back out and get back to work.

One last post, and then I'm caught up on the last year's painting, and can get back to the current stuff.

The Iron Warriors got some more love too, with another 4 Havoc squads painted and 8 Iron Warriors Assault Marine formations painted up. I only have a WIP shot and these guys are in storage currently. These were all midsummer additions to the force back in 2022.

I also put together a Devastation Cruiser and a Retaliator Grand Cruiser (counts as Despoiler Battleship for E:A purposes) to represent my orbital support assets:

In case you're wondering, these wonderful models were from Battlefleet Galaxy, who's put a ton of work into designing modular alternatives for BFG while GW leaves that game shelved.

So yeah, that's me caught up on 2022 & 2023 hobby work so far.

you switched to printing now on your fleet?

what are you using for your infantry bases? I historically used VGM 25mm rounds but they chamfered them now so I don't want those anymore

They look like Litko .8mm to me.

Sorry, only just saw this!

Those two ships are special cases, as it were. I still have a hoard of Battlefleet Gothic plastics to work through, but I picked those ships up from Battlefleet Galaxy because (A) I love his stuff, and (B) they serve as really good distinct-but-similar variants to the standard Chaos classes that I can pass them off as up-armored Iron Warriors variants. Coincidentally, I also have a venerable battle barge conversion using other Battlefleet Galaxy parts sitting in foam in storage to work on later this year / early next, too. I figure there's some Battlefleet Heresy action in my future at some point.

Also, infantry bases - I've been using Fenris Games for years: https://fenrisgames.com/shop#!/Epic-6mm-trays/c/8776794

All of my Iron Warriors are on 25mm round bases, and my Skitarii, demons & future guard projects are on his 15x40mm strip bases. They're nice & low profile, about 1.6mm once sandwiched together, and the holes are bored wide enough that Vanguard & Onslaught minis both fit in just fine. Beyond that, I throw on a super thin magnetic base bottom from Litko, and the whole thing basically sits at the same height as the classic GW plastic bases (and doesn't budge in transit when stuck to a magnetic sheet). Beyond that, I use Litko's Flames of War MDF in 1.6mm thicknesses + magnetic bottoms for tanks, and that rounds out the force.

Now, hobby updates!

I finished up another seven knights for AT/LI, three more Questoris chassis and a quartet of Cerastus Atropos. Haven't been able to set up a fancy backdrop for photography, so here's everybody on my painting table:

Attachment:
File comment: Malinax Questoris & Cerastus Atropos
image0.jpeg
image0.jpeg [ 876.43 KiB | Viewed 1344 times ]

And here's the Questoris knights, pre-decals, sporting their new dual battle cannon arms:

D3E7B9FF-EB8E-45AA-AF6A-BD4C692F9A30.JPG [ 721.59 KiB | Viewed 1344 times ]

Finally, my current project is (still) converting a Warlord conversion beamer to fit on a Warbringer carapace mount. Finished cutting out portions of the old weapon, fitting the mounting point, backfilling everything I'd cut out around the mount, and building the trim back up with styrene & greenstuff. Once the trim greenstuff cures, it's all going to get a light sand & a filler layer of liquid greenstuff to smooth things out, and then I get to experiment with N-scale resin rivet decals!

I foresee much swearing in my near future...

Ahhh yes Battlefleet Galaxy are ace. I knew i'd seen that one before. super swish!

You're pretty far into this conversion it appears but we did a nice printable carapace beamer on the facehole group. Probably long past the point of no return for you though :)

Really? I missed that one completely. And yeah, I cleared that point when the craft saw hit the $28 chunk of resin, basically. I'll be finishing this off, but I'd also be interested in trying to track down the easier-print alternative ;)

Sooo... last update was mid-puttywork on the conversion beamer. Yeah... I kinda got carried away over the last few weeks.

So, here's what it looked like once I got the rivet decals down:

Attachment:
IMG_1511.jpg
IMG_1511.jpg [ 980.91 KiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

And here's the finished product in all its glory:

Attachment:

Attachment:
IMG_1830.jpg
IMG_1830.jpg [ 1.07 MiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

And while I was at it, I painted up a paired gatling cannon mount for my Warbringers too, mostly because why not:

Attachment:
IMG_1831.jpg
IMG_1831.jpg [ 1.1 MiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

Attachment:
IMG_1833.jpg
IMG_1833.jpg [ 1.1 MiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

Meantime, I started working on my second Dire Wolf, who's awaiting decals & basing sand tomorrow, and as long as it's not too humid, I'll try to get the nameplate primed:

Attachment:
IMG_2031.jpg
IMG_2031.jpg [ 1.05 MiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

Attachment:
IMG_2032.jpg
IMG_2032.jpg [ 1.03 MiB | Viewed 1171 times ]

So yeah, I've been feeling the itch & painting lately, which is good :)

I promise I'll get around to painting more Epic at some point. Probably going to try to finish off my primed backlog for AT first though, which includes another 10 knights and a handful of titans for my War Griffons. I also have an idea for an AT-scale Baron suit kicking around that I want to mess with too. More on that in a bit.

Fantastic work! Very hard to pick a specific thing that stands out, but the checkered pattern work is absolutely outstanding.
