| Post subject: | Paint colors for Steel Legion? |
Hey guys, I was trying to find colors that would best match for a Steel Legion army. Specifically colors for the infantry trench coats and the colors for the vehicle armor. I'm hoping to use only GW or P3 paints if at all possible as that is what is at my flgs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well they've been depicted with several schemes in the artwork so it's probably best to point to one and go, "like this!!!"  I suspect you might be wanting colors from this very iconic picture Attachment: SL.jpg [ 12.42 KiB | Viewed 3230 times ] GW paints would likely be Tallarn Sand for the coats Steel Legion Drab for the uniform (or accents/variations) Stormvermin Fur for helmets Balor Brown for boots or kits perhaps (depends on your models) other potential colors for the pallet are Karak Stone Zamesi Desert |

That's pretty much exactly what I'm going for jimmy! Iconic is the name of the game. Do you have any opinions on vehicles? I tend to view it as a bluish grey but I think I just need to go straight grey to make it work on vehicles. I love putting new models together I just am less adept at the painting aspect.  Below is the type of paint job for vehicles I am going for. Thanks for the feedback mate!

Funny you post those pics as that's basically what my next guard formation is going yo look like. I was planning on using VGC Desert Yellow as I wanted a bit more of a desert look and Army Painter Uniform grey. |

AP uniform grey is great, so whatever the GW version of that is (used to be codex grey, now I *think* it's dawnstone) I'm not sure P3 do a close match the stripes are a mix of rotting flesh and bleached bone IIRC |

You guys are on point! Went and picked up the dawnstone and tallern desert and they are perfect for what I need. Ironically I only used the tallern desert on WW2 US infantry from GHQ (6mm models) for I Ain't Been Shot Mum but the effect is exactly what I want! Can't wait to get around to SL later this month! Thanks so much.
