Hi Folks after some suggestions for 6mm single sculp bases,

Having looked at some of the threads on here regarding single figures for custom skermish games and heroquest 6mm etc i have seen some good options.

What i am looking for is a decent base that i small enough to hold a 6mm figure, yes have plenty of vanguards ones but some of my minatures do not have the perfect circle to fit these, so green stuff on the surface will be needed to cover/ bring up to level etc. Which is what i would like to avoid if possible.

My only other option is to make a resin stand with a bigger whole and have the details in the resin, then it will only require a little green stuff to fill the void.

Have also looked at the resin bases already on ebay and just thought about drilling a hole in them but the bases are to large for what i require.

Any suggestions or pictures greatly appreciated ;)

Regards Epic

It'd be quite cheap to commission a metal mould with a bunch of sprues holding single-man bases, I would have thought?

Are you looking to use them for personal use, or put them up for sale?

If you only want a few, maybe a Shapeways print might serve?

You could try washers with different diameter holes.
Put the one with the small hole on the bottom and glue the one with the larger hole on top.

Personally I use a papercraft punch to punch out 10mm disks of magnetic paper and glue the minis straight on, then I either paint some pva around them and sprinkle some sand on or I build up the bases with a 50/50 mixture of greenstuff/milliput( but only because I prefer working with this mixture as opposed to straight up greenstuff).
Honestly at this size you're already talking about minute amounts of greenstuff anyway.

Here's an example of both

Cheers Ben, just for personal use mate so metal mould or shapeways out of the question, still not sure how many i will need lol.

Strozie, good idea on the Washers will bare that one in mind, as should be able to get some washers small enough but yet still add a bit weight to the minature, and as you said not much green stuff ;)

Cheers for the ideas guys much appreciated

This cuts 1.1cm squares http://www.firststopstationers.co.uk/p/ ... 0wod5F4NuA

and I use magnetic paper http://www.magneticdisplays.co.uk/magne ... ets-200-40

1.1cm magnetic square bases! You could instead go with steal paper though.

I use €0.01 + €0.02 coins for all my one man bases. Perfect size, plenty of weight, 90% of them are magnetic.

If I want squares I just cut 2mm thick plasticard, in to 1cmX1cm squares.

Inner dia is 6mm (standard 6mm base size socket), outer dia is 1cm.

They're all sprued up like that because it's actually cheaper to matter print WSF that way with shapeways rather than as separate components.

I will have to try a few sets of those, resin will be good as it will not scratch the other minatures if they are knocked about like metal ones would ;)

PM me your email address and I'll send you the 3d file for you to upload to shapeways?
