After counting and recounting the votes Florida-style, France wins in a 1-0 landslide.

Vive la France!

As a change of pace, some WIP pics. A sub topic for this thread might be "how to abrogate the CFE (conventional forces in Europe) treaty quickly."

French stuff, cleaned up and ready to go: AMX-10P/30b2/10RC/VCI, AML-90

Based and flocked on the spray table. I ran out of suitable flock for my micro armor, and stumbled upon a pretty good (thus far) stopgap measure: coffee grounds. I couldn't bear to waste fresh stuff, so I made a pot of coffee, dried the grounds out and used white glue. The real t st will come when I dry brush and wash it, but it seems to be working fine.

Sprayed with US Army green, which is very close to the green the French used

Yes indeed - AMX-DCA (AMX-30 chassis, twin 30mm guns) I believe is the correct designation. The models are CinC (as are the AMX-10RC).

Thanks for all the positive comments, guys. There's been some more progress...

First, I realized too late that I skipped a step in my process - a layer of dull coat that gives an extra coating to the flock so it doesn't fall off. Between that omission and the coarser nature of the coffee grounds, I had a lot of the basing material flaking off and exposing white plastic >:( So, I took some (it turns out my remaining) Russian armor enamel paint and applied another coat to the bases. One bottle of stinky enamel and I really appreciate acrylics!

Then, I drybrushed the bases with reaper dead flesh, applied an army painter strong tone wash to base and vehicle, followed by a drybrush of Vallejo US army green on the vehicle. The results:

AMX-30B2:

AMX-DCA:

AMX-10RC:

AMX-10P (GHQ and PFCinC):

AMX-13 (90mm):

...both last and least, the mighty AML-90:

The highlight on the French vehicles is a bit more subdued than the other armies, as usually I apply the dead flesh to the vehicle also, before the washes.

Anyway, preview of things to come. Flying tanks!!

love the Hind-A (the back three airframes) with that greenhouse-like cockpit. Looks like they had room for a stewardess in there!

It will be a real trick to do these guys justice with a good paintjob, while not taking forever to do it.

Ready (after a paintjob and flying stand) to lay the hurt on soviet armor with some HOT action :P

The brass rotors and struts are a nice touch.

This is so much goodness... I have always wanted to do a cold war 6mm thing (mainly T72s vs. strv 103 :) ). Regrettably, I would never get to play since it is just too obscure in my parts of the world.
