It's been awhile since I posted anything Warmaster related, and I like the idea of starting a painting thread off with zero painted miniatures.

I've been slowly converting these Dragon Princes over the past year. I wasn't a fan of the originals so I modified some Silver Helms with head swaps and dragon "ears" on the horses. No paint yet, I'm hoping to get to them this year though after I finish up my Wrath of Kings Goritsi.

The Sea Guard are still in the works, I just need to finish their command. Then I get to figure out how I'm going to do White Lions and Chrace chariots. Beyond that, I hope to do one or more of the following this year:

  • Finish my Knights and their Marauders
  • Finish aircraft and a Reaver for my Subjugators
  • Finish my WoK Goritsi
  • Start my WM Ogres or Landsknechte
  • Finish my Shieldbash Vidaar

Those look fantastic! Would be very interested to see your ogre project when you get it going. Have been looking into options myself for an ogre kingdoms force myself. Just have to finish building my WM Bretonnia army, painting my WM skaven army and EA Titan legion army.

Thanks guys.

I thought I had some pics of the Ogres but looks like I don't. I used the GW Ogres for the Bulls. Of the nine sculpts, 4 look lightly armored, 4 heavier armored and 1 can swing either way. I used the heavier 4 + 1 to make my Ironguts (weapon swaps and added wagon wheel shields). The lighter 4 + 1 will be the Leadbelchers, I need to finish up the cannons and arms form them.

For the Rhinox Riders I used a Khurasan wooly rhino and some of the heavier armored orgres:

The Gorgers are BoFA Hill Trolls and the Yetis are GW Trolls (phoned that one in).

Taking a break from Wrath of Kings for the month to participate in the May 2016 Tale of Warmaster Painters. I was planning on doing a Warmaster army last year before WoK came out and I subsequently started painting an army for it. Like I said, the plan was Ogres, but for the Tale I thought painting up some of my Warmonger Miniatures for the store would be a better use of the time.

I committed to painting a unit of Landsknechte Zweihänder and Pikeniere (Great Swords and Pikemen). These will be red and yellow quartered. I finished up the skin and armor this week and moved on to the yellow. These guys got a wash too, I have yet to do that with the Pikemen. I think I'll base and wash the red first too before moving on to the main color and highlights.

Work continues on the landsknechte for me. I finished the yellow this week and gave the red a basecoat and a wash. After the red's done I still have to do: socks, shoes/leather, pike hafts, gold bits, hair. So likely another week or two but still on course for the end of May I think.

Alright, two updates are enough. I feel like I'm sitting across from you at painting night, seeing the same minis week after week again. Where's the finished product? Chop chop!

What did you use for the helmets/breastplates?

The Adeptus Ineptus governing body met, and it was decided that we're going with negative reinforcement on this thread. Adjust accordingly.
