hi, Apologies to moderators if this topic has been done before. So I have a budget that makes me envious of a pre-schoolers lunch money, but plenty of cardboard, paper and other crafty bits. So I created an epic gargant out of card and other bits and bobs, and was hoping that I could throw together a few small cubes of paper to represent models to go with it or verse it. Anything really. I have been doing some searches on papercraft and there are a lot of things out there for lots of scales, but after several hours have not come across anything for epic. Does anyone know of any good sites? or if anything is even available? If there is not maybe paper counters that could be modified into a 3-d shape? I was thinking if you had a top view and folded up some sides and a front and back you could have a basic shape. Besides that are there any good sites on how to be scratch build epic models out there? I know the size is detrimental, but without parts which may not have, or is there an interest out there for this sort of thing? |

for papercraft, just use 40k scale papercraft nets and reduce them in size. For smaller vehicles this won't work, but basic hulls should be fine. There is a lot of interest in epic scratch building. The small size is an asset, not a detriment. For epic scratch building nets tend not to be used for most things (except really big stuff), as at epic scale you can get to sizes quickly just by layering card or plastic. There was a blog post with some nice cardboard leman russ made that way, but I forget the link … Lextar on taccom is worth looking at for plasticard scratch-building at the moment. http://www.taccmd.tacticalwargames.net/ ... =7&t=30201 Plasticard/plastic sheet doesn't need to be expensive. you can cut panels from the lids of food tubs, use old plastic cards (phone card etc), just check it can be blued with polycement. Sprue is pretty useful as a building material as well. I did pretty much all my early plasticard builds using the lids from ice cream tubs combined with cheap 1mm vacuum forming plastic sheeting. |

One of the guys at the local club uses 'flats' for a different set of rules. These are images stuck onto 2mm foam or plasticard. There are quite a lot of vassal images as well as other stuff on this site . . . |
